We recently had the chance to connect with Donna Casselman and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Donna, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Playing my musical compositions on my beautiful piano
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, I am an author, musician and artist, having dabbled in many fields of the arts. Currently my passion is writing. I still work full time as a business consultant, but I write every other opportunity I can find. The first two books of my fantasy adventure series are on Amazon: Tales of Narda: Road to Andolan and Tales of Narda Paths of Fyr, under D.R. Casselman. The series has been well received with excellent reviews and is available in all formats: hardcopy, paperback and Kindle. I am busy completing the third book of the series, Lord of Gorst. The book series is also available at Barnes & Noble.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My parents. They saw the artist in me from a young age, started me in music at 9, bought me an art course as a young teen. They received my poetry, drawings, paintings and musical compositions, their reward for helping to bring out the artist in me.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would have to say find and follow your purpose in life and don’t look back.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They would say being honest and ethical, following my passion and finding joy in each day.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope they will say I lived a very full life, one of adventure, hardship and great joy, loved and was loved by my children, my many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, friends and fans, and that I left many examples of my artistic creativity for all to enjoy.
