Stud. Dawnn Vance of Chattanooga, TN on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Stud. Dawnn Vance. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Dawnn, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
My typical day is a whirlwind of energy and purpose, and I embrace each moment with gratitude. The first thing I do upon waking is thank God for another day, setting a positive tone right from the start. I love sending good morning prayers or a quick text to my wonderful daughter, E’lyjahni, and my son, Elijah, reminding them just how much they mean to me and wishing them a fantastic day ahead.

Then, I immerse myself in my pharmacy labs for school or tackle the homework that awaits me. I co-own “Wynter Beauty Salon,” a venture I’m proud of, although I’m planning to transition into a management role as I explore other exciting business opportunities.

In addition to that, I devote time to managing paperwork for my nonprofit organization, “The FeBe Foundation,” while also ensuring my dog gets all the love and attention he deserves. Amidst the busyness, I also prioritize carving out “me” time to decompress and recharge — it’s essential for maintaining balance.

I deeply admire my daughter, E’lyjahni, who runs her own salon, “Lyji Beauty Bar,” in Greenville, NC. Reflecting on my journey as a young parent, I learned the importance of balancing work and home life — a lesson I strive to pass on to her. After undergoing my own healing and managing my CPTSD, I’ve focused on becoming the best version of myself, ensuring that my children feel an abundance of love and support. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see E’lyjahni receptive to my guidance, and I genuinely believe that this strong bond has significantly contributed to her success.

Then there’s my son, Elijah, who is turning into an extraordinary young man at just 13 years old. He’s already running his own business, “Eli’s Pressure Wash,” and his independence and determination continue to amaze me. His exceptional work ethic lays a solid foundation for a bright future, and I have no doubt he’ll achieve remarkable success — perhaps even become a millionaire one day! It’s a wonderful experience to watch him learn to manage and save his money. I can’t wait to share more about investing and building his investment portfolio with him. Seeing both my children thrive is the ultimate reward, because when live in a sink or swim world. I cherish every moment of this journey together.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello everyone! My name is Student Dr. Dawnn. I am a public figure, a mother of two, a business owner, and currently a student doctor of pharmacy. As the family matriarch, I juggle a diverse set of roles, which is why I like to refer to myself as Dr. Heart while I continue my studies. The reason I say this is because EVERYONE’S kindness and compassion sees me as a Mother Mary due to my humanitarian spirit, lol. My story is a testament to the power of determination and the beauty of evolution. I never set out to specifically do any of these things. I simply follow my passions and embrace each opportunity that comes my way. This is my story! A story of refusing to settle. Within my story, everyone gets to see that I am constantly evolving -from a business owner all the way to a doctor- and my brand is about mastering “thy self”. mastering transitions and maximizing potential at every stage of life.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My daddy was the very first person to see the spark of potential in me, long before anyone else recognized it. I can vividly recall the warmth in his eyes as he would turn to my mom and say with a chuckle, “She’s gonna be something one day, lol.” His unwavering faith in my abilities lit a fire within me, encouraging me to dream without limits.

I remember sitting on the living room floor, surrounded by my toys, while he pointed out even the smallest milestones—like when I learned to tie my shoes or recite my ABCs—each accomplishment met with his enthusiastic praise. He had this incredible way of making me feel like I could tackle the world. It was almost magical how he could see my potential shimmering beneath the surface, and every time those words left his lips, they filled me with an invigorating sense of purpose. His laughter was a constant melody in my childhood, echoing in my mind as a reminder that I had the strength to make him proud and achieve greatness.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Through the depths of my suffering, I unearthed a profound strength that became the cornerstone of my character. It was a journey marked by trials, but each challenge forged resilience and clarity within me. I often reflect on how this transformative experience has influenced my children as well. My daughter embodies the values I’ve strived to cultivate, showing remarkable integrity and compassion in her everyday interactions. She even has a tattoo that reads “Strength.” My son, though still on his journey of character development, has grasped the essence of what it means to possess good character and integrity. He’s beginning to understand the weight of these principles and their crucial role in shaping him into the man he aspires to be. Each day, I see glimpses of his growth as he navigates challenges and learns the importance of standing firm in his values. Together, we are all on a path of continuous growth, discovering the power of character that emerges from our experiences.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
The answer to this question would undoubtedly be multifactorial, as it involves a complex interplay of various influences. For me, family, faith, morals, and values are not just abstract concepts; they fundamentally shape who I am and how I interact with the world. I prioritize these principles in my daily life, ensuring that they guide my decisions and actions.

With everyone around me, I strive to create an atmosphere where these values are actively demonstrated and felt. I believe that my commitment to these principles sets a tone for those in my life, encouraging them to reflect on their own beliefs and behaviors. I’m not just a passive observer; I take an active role in fostering accountability. When I see someone straying from these important values, I don’t hesitate to gently correct them.

I approach these conversations with care, aiming to teach rather than criticize, helping them understand the importance of holding themselves accountable for their actions. It’s about nurturing growth and instilling a sense of responsibility that aligns with our shared principles. Such interactions often lead to deeper discussions about ethics and personal integrity, reinforcing the importance of these values in our lives. Ultimately, my goal is to cultivate a community where moral values are not only recognized but also actively practiced.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If immortality were real, what would you build?
I believe in the transformative power of prayer and community. I would dedicate myself to building places of worship that serve as sanctuaries of peace and hope. These spaces wouldn’t just be about individual devotion; they would be about creating a supportive environment where everyone feels welcomed. By fostering a spirit of unity and compassion, I aspire to inspire positive change and uplift lives, helping us all to walk a path of purpose and connection. Together, we can create a brighter future filled with love, understanding, and growth.
