Story & Lesson Highlights with Troy Ganser of New Haven

Troy Ganser shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Troy, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: When was the last time you felt true joy?
It’s a regular occurrence, but anytime I can actively create something – even a good memory for someone else, it is a soulful experience for me. I love to create!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Founded in 2000, The T.A.G. Art Company is an entertainment organization based in New Haven, Indiana. We believe that when you create the right environment to be entertained, you unlock imaginations to wonder and dream. Our goal is to unleash this imagination in all of our clients.

At the heart of our work is that all entertainment should be pure, uncomplicated, enjoyable, and safe.

The T.A.G. Art Company is led by me (Troy Ganser.) It’s hard to believe, but I knew what I wanted to be “when I grew up” since 2nd grade. 5 years later at age 12, I began my professional career. I can claim several impressive accomplishments – such as the world record for the largest single panel comic strip! I have also drawn over 350,000 caricatures, and raised thousands of dollars for charity through my performance art.

I can truly say I am “living the dream.” I also know what it takes to get there, how to stay focused and manage one’s priorities. I love sharing this wisdom and inspiring others to do the same.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My parents.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Success is about following through on your plans and not making excuses. It is easily attainable, all you have to do is “the thing.” It is when those in business forget their “why” that they fail to succeed.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What will you regret not doing?
Starting sooner. I’ve waited too long for others to share the dream and in waiting for their drive to develop, I’ve missed out on greater growth.
