We recently had the chance to connect with charles sam and have shared our conversation below.
charles, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
Being able to go to sleep everyday knowing i dont internationally cause anyone pain
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
okay so I’m a student, mentor, and published author with a passion for transforming exclusion into empowerment. I’ve mentored over 1,000 Ghanaian students in navigating higher education and immigration systems, and I’m currently pursuing law school to become the kind of lawyer who uses the law as a bridge not a barrier.
What makes my journey unique is that I’ve lived both invisibility and visibility. I transferred from a college where I felt unseen to one where I’m valued, and that shift fuels everything I do. Whether I’m writing personal statements, delivering speeches, or placing my book in Barnes & Noble stores, I lead with authenticity, resilience, and purpose.
My brand is built on advocacy, storytelling, and service. I believe in using my voice to uplift others, especially immigrants, international students, and anyone who’s ever felt like they didn’t belong. Right now, I’m working on building my speaking portfolio, expanding my book’s reach, and preparing to speak at KNUST UNSA to inspire others through my story.
This isn’t just about me it’s about building a community where everyone feels seen.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
i beleived that i would be loved by everyone and i was never going to have friendship fallouts
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
after publishing my first nine books, no one read them and at that point i had thoughts of giving up but for some reason i knew it was meant for me to be an autho
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
President Donald Trump
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
resilience, nothing is supposed to be easy in this world and that is what most people do not see
