Maleeka Alease of BayArea CA./ Charlotte Nc on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Maleeka Alease shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Maleeka , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Honestly, travel. There’s something about being in a new place that just makes me feel free. I’m not worried about time or lost in my phone , I’m really in the moment. And while I’m exploring, I always end up finding myself again or being reminded of who I am.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Maleeka Alease / Self-reflection coach and author dedicated to helping people reconnect with themselves and live with greater awareness and intention. Through my coaching, writing, creating ,and personal story, I create spaces for others to pause, reflect, and realign with who they truly are.
What makes my work unique is the balance between depth and simplicity. I believe self-discovery doesn’t always have to be heavy or complicated. Sometimes, it’s about slowing down, listening inward, and honoring your own journey. My brand, Nvoke Productions, is built on authenticity, compassion, and growth it’s really about guiding people to remember themselves.
Most recently, I’ve expanded my vision through a new sub-brand called Let Me Heal You Something: rooted in hope, edification, and love. What started as a group travel partnership has grown into a dynamic space where I curate personalized self-reflection sessions for individuals, entrepreneurs, and organizations. Each session is tailored to their unique needs, highlighting self-awareness, self-reflection, and the deeper alignment between who they are and what they wish to express through their life or business.
Right now, I’m continuing to build both Nvoke Productions and Let Me Heal You Something into platforms that help people see healing and reflection not just as moments, but as a lifestyle.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that has served its purpose and now needs to be released is the version of myself that lived in survival mode. For so much of my life, that mindset kept me going it taught me how to be strong, resilient, and determined. It helped me push through seasons when I didn’t have much else to hold onto.
But I’ve realized that survival isn’t the same as living. While it protected me for a long time, it also kept me from feeling safe, grounded, and free. Now, I’m in a space where I no longer want to just get by I want to be. I want to live in peace, to know safety, and to create stability within myself instead of constantly fighting for it.
Survival got me here, and I honor that version of me for doing what she had to do. But she can rest now. Because where I’m going requires presence, trust, and openness not just endurance.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain when I finally realized that I was in pain, and that pain is universal. We’ve all gone through something, just at different times and in different ways. That understanding changed everything for me. It showed me that pain isn’t something to be ashamed of; it’s something that connects us.
The foundation of my brand and the work I do is built on the belief that transparency bridges the gap. When we learn to speak openly about what we’ve been through, we create space for others to see that they’re not alone, that someone has either made it through what they’re facing or is walking that same path beside them.
That’s when pain turns into power. For me, vulnerability became my strength. I use my story both the healed parts and the parts still healing , to remind others that pain is a part of life, but it’s not where we have to stay. We can heal, we can grow, and we can help each other do the same through honesty and connection.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
One truth that’s foundational in my life and that I rarely have to articulate is that everything I’ve experienced has purpose. Even the pain, the pauses, and the uncertainty. I’ve learned that nothing is wasted; it all teaches, shapes, or redirects me toward alignment. that’s also God’s promise to me(Rom8:28)
Another truth is that healing isn’t a destination it’s a lifestyle. I don’t believe in “arriving.” I believe in evolving. Every day, I learn a little more about myself, forgive a little deeper, and choose peace a little faster.
And maybe the biggest truth is that transparency bridges the gap. We heal through honesty , with ourselves and with each other. I don’t always say these things out loud because they’re just how I live. They’re embedded in who I am and in everything I create through
Nvoke Productions and Let Me Heal You Something

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope the story people tell about me is that I was a light , that I encouraged, uplifted, and helped others see hope again. My prayer isn’t to be known by the masses, but to make a real difference in the lives of those walking through dark places, because I’ve been there myself.
Through my journey and my faith in Christ Jesus, I’ve learned what it means to be freed, to shed old layers, and to truly live. That transformation has shaped my purpose to help others experience that same encounter, that same light.
If people remember me as someone who inspired them to believe again, to heal, or to see God’s love in a new way, then I’ll know I did what I was called to do. I just want to be someone’s answer! a reflection of God’s work through me.
