Jessica Erin on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jessica Erin. Check out our conversation below.

Jessica, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
I like to get into the feeling of true nature of me and learning myself and my thoughts. I can be in nature, in the car, anywhere really but spending quiet time with myself helps me stay centered and nurtured and without all the noise of the world. It is the best feeling, and you can see the beauty of the trees, the birds, the leaves flowing in the wind, and return to your calm. Flowers really shine when you are in this state of mind and helps me feel balanced. I love to be there with my dogs as well as they are a great calming sense for me. You can be in the car singing your heart out and just feeling free in life. it doesn’t happen too often but its a great place to be!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jess! I am an avid travel influencer/ brand and story promotor. I love to write and listen to music; I like all different kinds of music. I My story is very versatile and can be a number of things and i like to keep things interesting. I am always pushing the boundaries and starting new projects. Right now, I am in travel, influencing others, booking projects, and i do demos and shows/ conventions and it give me the opportunity to meet so many like-minded people. I am unique as i never really am in the same place, job, company or location at any time and things are always changing and updating. I like that a lot because the world is always changing and moving forward and i like to know that i am in that same space and moving equally with the world and its beauty. I have a passion for this world and its beauty.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A great moment for me would be when I was across the world and in a place, I have never been, where many would be scared, unfamiliar, worried, concerned or missing home, where I felt right at home and learning that culture of that place. I never wanted to leave! I was fully embodied and enmeshed almost like I was alive and living there in that moment. I didn’t want to go home I wanted to keep on exploring and being in that moment. it makes me see just how BIG the world is, how everyone is different than us, and how we can still all get along no matter the situation or place or differences. It makes you realize so many things about life and cultures! I was so fascinated and blown away by the differences in the world you feel like you’re on a different planet but somehow you can find your place there too, you can blend in and belong if you want. Just learn. Learn the language. learn the food. Enjoy the show, the music. Everyone is kind and welcoming despite knowing you are not from there. This world is huge and wild and amazing with so much depth to it, but we all can find our place and be free anywhere we want, the limits are truly endless.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I have suffered a lot in my personal life from being a child all the way until today. I am a single young girl with not many friends, not with a partner, not with a huge family or following. I have always been there for myself the most and have learned to never give up, and don’t let things like this define me. I am me, and I am strong, patient, and an amazing friend to all. I listen and guide and help others despite not having many things that others take so easily for granted. I would love to find love and a husband and kids, but it just has never found me or resonated with me yet and that’s ok. I am alone a lot and I have learned to love this feeling and the free feeling it gives me, it gives me a silent strength that many just don’t know how to have and i am proud to know that i possess this. I choose strength in being alone with myself. It teaches me to be there for me and count on me because no one else you can really count on in the end. You will always be your greatest supporter, and greatest friend. One day things will come together for me also i am not worried. Losing a parent can hurt you to your core, tit builds a new way of thinking about life. It makes you think not everything is easy or about winning but by battling things and seeing how you feel once on the other side and overcome lots of pain. You can truly feel real proudness, not just any award or something handed to you for doing your job right or winning some game. it is a inner sense of calm and joy that no one and nothing can take away from you I feel pretty happy to be able to say i have overcome what i have in my life so far.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
Hmm a tough discussion but one I will touch on briefly here is the world today as a society. We are living in a closed world so to speak where everyone believes that their situation and thoughts are the top, and we should all agree with them. We tend to lose sight of that everyone can have and speak their opinion and shouldn’t be shamed for having one. The truth is that we all are different in this crazy thing called life. there is only one of each of us. we have our own minds and thoughts. I came across a site and reading comments on it that stated that people were mean, low, degraded, punished laughed at and mocked for saying something other than the first opinion. We turn into animals fighting and auguring with one another to people we don’t even know, and for what? Some see my point of view, but many are closed minded and want to shame and yell and scream if that person doesn’t agree with them. It is a hard thing to understand in this society today. Why can’t we just get along? If that is what people say, why don’t they choose to live by it? I get confused and upset at times but try to remind myself that this truth is here and hard for many to come to terms with. We should be getting along better as life is short and shouldn’t be wasted on petty things and words. However, the truth is people love to argue and bicker and most of the time would rather be right, than be kind or friends. I see the world for what it is and i think it will continue to be this way for a long time until people learn to center themselves and finally say I’ve had enough of the fighting and I don’t need to always be right.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If immortality were real, what would you build?
A tricky question for sure! I would like to say being immortal would have its faults and downfalls for sure. I don’t think the world would value as much in life if it were forever with no end. Mortality alone teaches you to be grateful and that nothing is promised so i like that truth the most here. However, if it were a thing (haha!) I would probably like to have a business and opportunity for the less fortunate to get them going on a basis where they don’t feel they have to fight or struggle just as much each day. I’ve been there and the stress builds a lot very quickly. I don’t like to see others this stressed in each and everyday life. If i can help them start their way or business, by a website or a facility, i would pick that. and it would be endless into eternity. That would make me feel good. Whether they want to brand ambassador or start their own hair salon that is their choice. I would like to have this legacy that would be awesome. Oh! And to help dogs too! make sure every dog is safe!
