We recently had the chance to connect with Maria Rei and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Maria, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are almost always dedicated to my morning practice, a ritual I’ve committed to for over 10 years. It’s my way of checking in with myself, making me the priority, and setting the tone to lead my day rather than letting it lead me. My practice usually includes a mix of journaling, affirmations, meditation, and intentional conversations with my higher self. The details shift with the season, but the intention remains the same: to align, ground, and lead from a place of clarity and presence.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Maria Rei, a Master Feminine Energy Healer, Emotional Alchemy Coach, and creator and host of The Femme Cast podcast. I help ambitious, soul led, impact driven women transmute suppressed emotion into unapologetic power, purpose, visibility, and impact. No toxic positivity, just real, raw emotional alchemy.
For most of my life, I was a notorious people pleaser. By the time I reached my forties, my life no longer felt like my own. So I blew it up, packed my bags, and spent six months in Southeast Asia, a journey that led to a seven year relationship hiatus and completely transformed my life.
I believe in the power of emotional alchemy, and that the emotions we are taught to suppress are not weaknesses to overcome but portals to deeper truth, power, and purpose. When we learn to feel, process, and transmute our emotions, we access a level of authenticity and magnetism that changes everything.
I also live by a no toxic positivity rule. Healing isn’t about bypassing pain or pretending everything is fine. It’s about meeting yourself honestly, feeling what needs to be felt, and transforming it into strength and wisdom.
I’m currently shifting the focus of my work from relationships to purpose. While I still help women break free from toxic relationship patterns that keep them small, my deeper focus now is on the power and potential those patterns have been holding them back from.
I believe the divine feminine on this planet is rising, healing, and reclaiming her power to restore balance to the collective, and that women like us are being called to play a vital role in that healing.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I think the ‘good girl’ era has served its purpose and is done. It’s over. I’m just not available for it anymore.
I’ve now entered my unapologetic era, where I’m unafraid to stand out, ruffle a few feathers, and speak the truths everyone else is thinking but no one’s willing to say.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Emotions are not something to be avoided, felt bad for, or suppressed. They are a portal. No matter the emotion, it is not inherently good or bad, it just is. What matters is what we do with it and how we manage it. Anger is not a bad emotion unless it is suppressed, projected, or made to define who you are. Joy is not a good emotion unless you allow yourself to fully experience it instead of holding back out of fear that someone else might feel bad.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
Many people think that half of what they feel is bad and that they are manifesting unwanted things because a million different voices in personal development told them so. Nothing could be further from the truth. You can be angry and still love. You can be sad and still experience joy. Life is full of duality, and the number one way we keep ourselves stuck is by trying to resist that.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What light inside you have you been dimming?
I’ve been avoiding talking about my work with emotional alchemy, and most recently my rage work. It’s something I’ve been afraid to share for a very long time, always worried about what others in the personal development and spiritual community might say. But as I look at the world around me, I see more and more examples every day of how desperately this work is needed right now.
