We’re looking forward to introducing you to Nicole Holmes. Check out our conversation below.
Nicole , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Recently, I had a moment that made me laugh out loud watching my youngest daughter, Maya (8), confidently “run” our kitchen like a cooking show host.
I also have daughters who are 28 and 32 😳😂 and we were all her sous chefs.
So it was one of those moments that reminded me how much joy is in being with family and how much kids are always watching us.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Nicole Holmes! I’m passionate about building community and creating spaces where women can connect, grow, and thrive. I started the Girl Gang Tribe, an organization that brings women together to support and celebrate one another. I’m also excited about The Lemon Tree, our new brick-and-mortar space designed to host events, workshops, and drop-in community experiences. Recently, I joined the Chamber of Commerce as a board member, and I continue to work with Serenity House, supporting programs that uplift women in our community. Essentially, I get to do a little bit of everything I love community, entrepreneurship, and helping women step into their power.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I think what breaks bonds between people is often a lack of trust, poor communication, or not feeling seen and valued. Small misunderstandings can grow when we don’t address them, and silence can create distance. What restores bonds, for me, is honesty, showing up consistently, and truly listening. Taking the time to understand each other, apologize when needed, and celebrate each other’s growth goes a long way in rebuilding connection.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self to trust her instincts more and not be afraid to step into her power. Life moves fast, and the sooner you believe in yourself and your worth, the more joy and freedom you create along the way.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My close friends would probably say that what really matters to me is my relationship with God, my family, and the connections I build with my community.
They’d also say I care deeply about creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to be their best selves, that’s really important to me.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
People might misunderstand my legacy by thinking it’s just about the events I produce, the spaces I create or the organizations I lead. The truth is, it’s really about the lives I touch, the women I uplift, and the community I help build. My legacy is about connection, empowerment, and faith and the way those ripple out far beyond any one project.
