Story & Lesson Highlights with Liam Canet Leiva of Brooklyn

We recently had the chance to connect with Liam Canet Leiva and have shared our conversation below.

Liam, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I am walking a path, it can sometimes make you wander but the destination is set

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Liam Canet Leiva, a film composer from Argentina. My work explores the delicate relationship between music and storytelling — how sound can reveal emotion, atmosphere, and truth in ways that words cannot.

Drawing inspiration from both the natural world and the inner landscapes of human emotion, I create music that blends orchestral depth with ambient subtlety. Each composition seeks to evoke a sense of place and feeling — to invite the listener into a world where sound becomes cinema.

Whether I’m scoring a film, crafting a standalone piece, or shaping the sonic identity of a visual narrative, my goal remains the same: to compose music that not only enhances the story, but lingers in the imagination long after the final frame fades.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Definitely my parents, my family, have been there since day one, and are still there even though sometimes it can be insignificant for me, they are always there.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Please pay attention in music theory class, its so fun and it would be a lot easier if you can learn it when you’re young.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Definitely as a film composer i truly admire Vangelis.
Since i was a kid and my dad showed me the score for Blade Runner, i said wow this is something else.
Although not until i grew more and started to realize the genius of that man and all his body work and process for creating the memorable scores we all know and love.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
Probably just the dumb stories and fun moments i had with everyone i loved.
