Carl John on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Carl John and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Carl, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I’m walking a spirit led path and a healing path. Now, my path hasn’t always been clear. It has ebbed and flowed as I’ve forgotten or fallen into old patterned beliefs. There were many challenges that can harden ones heart from 2020 on, and it took me awhile to course correct.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Carl John, a former real estate financier, business development guy and entrepreneur. Through a breakdown of that reality, I was guided onto an artistic path of tranformation. On Audible I have an audiobook, Carl John, The Journey Home, if you want to know more about this transformational journey and how it may relate to your own life. I’m blessed to share my own experiences working with individuals to break free of their worn out versions of themselves to step powerfully into a new reality.

On the live performance front, I tend to blend soul-stirring music with insightful storytelling to share a message of conscious transformation. I like to take the audience on an entertaining and inspiring ride, sharing the raw, honest stories behind reinvention. Ultimately, my hope is that people leave feeling full in their soul.

On other projects, I just launched out a digital music collectible with Jason Paige, the OG Pokemon Theme Song Singer. I am also working on a Vegas residency for 2026 that has a community building component.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I think a lie breaks the bond between people. You never quite know who it is that you have in from of you. That said, vulnerable truth can restore that bond. That truth is when you’re really able to see a change wanting to happen in another. There seems to have been a loss of trust between people. I think that some honest vulnerability and accountability over peoples experiences over the last five or so years would be very healing.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
My suffering has taught me a lesson in compassion that success never could. I was able to walk a mile in shoes that I would have never put on and it has changed the way that I see the plight of others.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
Freedom! Freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom to make the medical and educational choices for you and you family. Knowing that there isn’t freedom for one unless there is a freedom for all. Even if I disagree, I wouldn’t want to squash an expression coming through another. It’s all bigger than the little “I” and sometimes we have to see that little dark corner of our psyche blown up on the big screen so that we can move through it. It’s not always easy to absorb, but it certainly feels important. That concept seems to have gotten lost along the way.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
What many will misunderstand about my legacy is the idea that I simply changed my life to become a musician. That’s not what happened. I set out on a pilgrimage — to see if I could live the wildest dream that ever called to my heart, and to take the greatest leap of faith my soul could imagine. I wanted to know if the teachings of spirit, of manifestation and divine creation, were more than words — if they could breathe life into reality.
In that journey, I didn’t just find music. I guess I found proof — a living certainty of the Divine Presence, and a new way of walking in oneness with the Creator.
