Shamira Fuller-Cross’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

Shamira Fuller-Cross shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Shamira, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Something outside of work that has been bringing me a lot of joy lately is taking vacations. I love to travel, and one of my goals is to visit all 50 states in the U.S. one day. There’s so much to see and experience from learning how different cities live to trying all kinds of foods. Traveling gives me a chance to unwind, explore, and truly enjoy life, because life is too short not to.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Shamira Fuller-Cross and I am the founder of Mira Designs, LLC located in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Mira Designs, LLC specializes in designing tech accessories and apparel for you to show off your style.
My motto, “Show off your style,” reflects the idea of expressing your personality through tech accessories and apparel that elevates your everyday look. Designing these products can be challenging, but it’s also fun and rewarding to see someone’s personal vision come to life.
The purpose of Mira Designs is to empower individuals to create one-of-a-kind accessories rather than settling for generic designs. My apparel line consists of both my personal brand and Christian-inspired pieces. Right now, I’m focused on collaborating with other tech companies to expand the brand’s reach. I believe that with hard work, dedication, and keeping God first, everything else will fall into place.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed that owning my own business was out of reach and not really a path I could take. I thought I would always work for someone else, and even though I still do, entrepreneurship once felt unfamiliar and maybe even impossible for me. Over time, I realized that those limiting beliefs were just beliefs, not facts. With focus, faith, and hard work, I discovered that I can create something meaningful on my own. Today, I no longer believe that I am limited to just one path. I believe in my ability to grow, adapt, and build my own future.

When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
When I was sad or scared as a child, what helped me most was being able to talk to someone about how I was feeling. I learned early on that it’s okay to ask for help and that pride should never stop you from opening up. Talking about what’s bothering you is always better than keeping it all in, because holding it inside only makes things worse and can weigh heavily on your mind.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is the real me. What you see is truly who I am. I believe in showing up as my authentic self every day. I’m naturally a happy person, and I love to smile and laugh. I think it’s more important to stay true to who you are than to try to be like someone else. For me, that means staying grounded, loving myself, minding my business, and focusing on what I’m supposed to do. I find that when I do that, not only am I happier, but I’m also able to connect with others more genuinely and bring positive energy into any environment I’m in.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, I can definitely give my best even if no one ever praises me for it. When I put my mind to something and stay focused on what needs to be done, whether it’s at work, at church, in my business, or while helping someone, I always aim to give my full effort. I believe it’s not always about recognition, even though sometimes we naturally want to be acknowledged. I’ve always held onto the saying, “You never know who’s watching you.” The moment you think no one is paying attention, someone is. They may not say anything right away, but later on, you might find out that your consistency and dedication inspired or impacted them. That’s why I try to do my best at all times, because you never know whose life you might be inspiring just by doing what’s right.
