An Inspired Chat with Felicia Malone

We recently had the chance to connect with Felicia Malone and have shared our conversation below.

Felicia, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: When have you felt most loved—and did you believe you deserved it?
I recently had a book release party for Ruth’s Awakening: Love on the Moon. As the MC began to take questions from the audience – which was comprised of my family, church family, and friends. The questions morphed into individuals stating kind things about me and why they appreciate me in general. It was a shower of compliments and heartfelt words. I was taken aback slightly. I told myself, accept love. You are lovable and it’s okay to be loved.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a writer of romance novels and future movie producer. I create worlds where church girls get to explore what happily ever after means to them.

I also review novels, movies, and TV Shows that explore love and becoming. Love is your portion and I want you to get a good helping of it.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I am a dreamer and creative. Early on, I was told that I could not make a living being creative. I have spent over two decades, thriving in corporate America but desiring to create.

My gift to myself has been to pursue my dreams with the fervency.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I few years ago, I had a really tough breakup. I felt ashamed and as if I had failed. When I began to confront the pain and grief of the breakup, I was able to use it as power. I write more authentically about loss, unrequited love, grief, and returning to hope after that experience.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
I believe smart people need to seek out rooms where they are the least smart person in the room. Being open to challenges and continuous learning helps you grow.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
Investing – in my health, my education, and finances.
