We’re looking forward to introducing you to Matt Walsh. Check out our conversation below.
Matt, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
While I’ve always believed I’m walking a purposeful path, these global, turbulent times sometimes make it feel like I’m just wandering, forcing me to navigate around the unexpected, trusting that each obstacle is reshaping the way forward.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Matt Walsh, founder and CEO of Splish Naturals, a wellness company rooted in the belief that “Everyone Deserves Wellness™.” Splish Naturals was born in 2019 out of both personal passion and professional intention—to offer individuals natural, science-backed relief from pain, inflammation, and stress without relying on synthetic or pharmaceutical interventions.
Our product lines—including our award-winning topical balms and sprays, compression sleeves, and the groundbreaking Rejuvenation and Chakra PEMF Mats—combine cutting-edge modalities like Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF), Far Infrared Heat, Negative Ion Generation, and TENS with botanical extracts, essential oils, and food-grade terpenes. What makes us truly unique is not just what we make, but how we make it and why—our products are crafted in small batches, harnessing a synergistic blend of high-grade ingredients, where CBD serves as a catalytic messenger, not just a main ingredient. Unlike many in the market, we utilize CBD as a signal enhancer, not a headline.
Today, Splish Naturals is recognized by spa professionals, athletes, physical therapists, and everyday wellness seekers for its effectiveness and integrity. We’ve proudly earned titles like Holistic Wellness Solution Company of 2024 and Best Wellness Innovator, and have expanded our impact through our Heal Your Heroes™ program, which honors everyday heroes—teachers, nurses, caregivers, and more—by offering them relief and recognition through our products and community.
What we’re working on now is nothing short of transformative. We’re expanding deeper into sports recovery, luxury hospitality, spa therapy, and wearable wellness technology, bridging ancient modalities and emerging science. As the $5.6 trillion wellness economy accelerates toward $8.5 trillion by 2027, we see Splish Naturals as a conduit—making real wellness more personal, powerful, and accessible.
Whether it’s helping an elite skier prep and recover faster, supporting a parent dealing with chronic pain, or elevating a spa experience into a sensory healing journey, we’re here to help people live better, move easier, and heal deeper.
Because at Splish Naturals—we don’t just believe in wellness. We build the tools for it.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
I had a mentor when I was younger named Bill—an older gentleman who, from the very first time we met, seemed to have an unshakable trust in me. He handed me his Jeep keys when I was just fifteen and later hired me as a commercial painter before I really knew what I was doing. Looking back, I realize he saw something in me that I hadn’t yet seen in myself.
There’s one piece of wisdom he shared that has stayed with me ever since: “If you can take the time to do a job twice, why not take the time to do it right the first time?” Over the years, that simple truth has echoed through my life—not just in work, but in how I approach people, purpose, and every challenge that comes my way.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes—several times, actually. One of the most memorable was when a close friend and I built a direct-access trading platform for stock trading back in the late 1990s. It was an exciting and visionary project, but our ability to grow and attract customers was quickly tested by forces far beyond our control: the decimalization of stock trading, the collapse of the Dot-Com boom, and the tragic events of September 11.
By September 2001, we had decided that by year’s end, we would shut down the business and move on. Then, almost miraculously, the very next day we received a call from a major New York broker-dealer who ended up acquiring our company. It was one of those moments that reminded me how unpredictable life—and timing—can be.
These days, I sometimes lie awake asking myself, “What am I doing?” When I launched my current company, Splish Naturals, my goal was simple yet profound: to improve the quality of life for as many people as possible through all-natural, non-invasive wellness solutions. Our tagline, “Everyone Deserves Wellness,” still captures that mission perfectly.
Yet since launching in December 2019, it’s been one challenge after another—beginning with the COVID pandemic and extending into today’s world of division, anger, confusion, and social media saturation. It can be difficult to inspire people to focus on their own well-being when there’s so much noise and misinformation swirling around. But every time I feel that frustration, I return to my original purpose—the belief that healing, balance, and wellness are things everyone deserves, and that perseverance in that mission matters most.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Without hesitation—my wife, Andrea.
Andrea is one of the rare leaders I’ve known whose moral compass never wavers, even when doing what’s right comes at the expense of what’s easy or profitable. At her core, she believes leadership is not about authority or status—it’s about integrity, compassion, and courage.
She has an unwavering conviction that when you genuinely care for the people in the trenches—the ones who make the magic happen day after day—you build the foundation for sustainable success. It’s a philosophy that runs counter to much of today’s corporate culture, where too many decisions are made by individuals far removed from the realities of the business or the people driving it forward. Instead, choices are too often based on what a spreadsheet dictates or what will please shareholders in the next quarterly report.
Andrea leads differently. She listens, empowers, and protects her teams. Across her years in leadership within several Fortune 500 companies, she’s cultivated loyalty, pride, and trust—proving time and again that when people feel valued, they don’t just work harder; they work with heart.
In a world that often measures success in numbers, Andrea reminds me daily that true success is built on character—the kind that inspires others to believe in something greater than themselves.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What light inside you have you been dimming?
Hope.
In today’s world—between the constant noise of the news, the chaos of social media, and the weight of global events—it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by a sense of hopelessness and despair. I often find myself caught in that feeling. It seems that no matter how hard you try or how carefully you plan, an unforeseen obstacle always appears—slowing you down, forcing a change in direction, and leaving you to question whether hope itself still has a place.
