Meet Jewel Moore

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jewel Moore. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jewel, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience really comes from my DNA. I come from a long line of strong, smart, and determined women who’ve faced challenges with grace and grit.Growing up, I watched women in my family turn obstacles into opportunities, whether that meant rebuilding from setbacks, reinventing themselves, or leading with quiet strength when things were difficult.

That kind of resilience became part of how I move through the world. It taught me to stay calm under pressure, to look for solutions instead of excuses, and to keep showing up even when the path isn’t easy. I carry that legacy with me in my work and when I lead a team through tight deadlines, pivot a campaign, or face unexpected challenges, I’m pulling from that deep well of strength that’s been passed down through generations. It’s a reminder that perseverance and heart can turn even the hardest moments into something powerful.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
SoulFood & SoundTracks started as a passion project rooted in my love for storytelling, culture, and connection. It’s a dinner experience that brings people together around iconic Black movie soundtracks, pairing each course with music and films that shaped generations. What makes it special is that it’s not just a dinner, it’s a full sensory experience that celebrates food, film, and community in a way that feels nostalgic and new all at once.

What excites me most is the way each event becomes a creative collaboration. I get to work with incredible chefs from different cultural backgrounds who reinterpret these soundtracks through food — infusing their heritage, artistry, and flavor into something that’s deeply personal and universally resonant. We’ve built something that feels both intimate and cinematic.

Looking ahead, I’m focused on expanding SoulFood & SoundTracks beyond Los Angeles. There are so many stories, artists, and soundtracks that deserve their own experiential listening party from classic films to emerging creators whose music deserves to be felt, not just heard. The goal is to take this concept on the road, building with local chefs, curating regional menus, and spotlighting the sounds that define each city’s soul.

At its heart, SoulFood & SoundTracks is about celebration of culture, creativity, and connection. It’s about honoring where we’ve been and amplifying the voices and flavors that are shaping what’s next.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that have had the biggest impact on my journey are creativity, resilience, and relationship-building.

Creativity has always been my compass. Whether I’m building campaigns or curating experiences like SoulFood & SoundTracks, I’ve learned that creativity isn’t just about ideas, it’s about how you connect them. It’s seeing the bigger story and finding new ways to make people feel something real. For anyone starting out, I’d say nurture your curiosity. Keep learning, experimenting, and consuming art outside your comfort zone, it all feeds your creative perspective.

Resilience has been equally important. There have been moments when things didn’t go as planned. Events that had to pivot, campaigns that needed rebuilding, but every setback taught me something valuable. My advice? Don’t let perfection slow you down. Learn to adapt quickly and view challenges as redirection, not rejection.

And finally, relationship-building has shaped everything I’ve done. The best opportunities in my career have come through authentic connections with collaborators, partners, and communities. My advice here is simple: lead with integrity and gratitude. People remember how you make them feel more than what you do. Building trust and showing up for others will take you further than any title ever could.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes,collaboration is at the heart of everything I do. I’m always looking to partner with people who share a love for storytelling, culture, and impact. For SoulFood & SoundTracks specifically, I’m excited to connect with chefs from diverse backgrounds, artists, filmmakers, and musicians who want to reimagine how we experience food and music together. I’m also open to collaborating with brands and cultural institutions that value creativity, community, and representation, people and organizations who want to help expand this experience to new cities and audiences.

Beyond that, I love building with other creatives who are passionate about purpose-driven storytelling, whether that’s through campaigns, events, or brand collaborations that make people feel something meaningful.

Anyone who’s interested in collaborating can reach out to me directly through Instagram or email, i’m always open to conversations that start with a great idea and heart behind it.
