Meet Juan Don

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Juan Don. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Juan below.

Juan , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
It all started when I was a child, always willing always daring. When I became old enough to know what confidence is, there was a battery my brother in law Pierre installed into my mindset. The motivational term “WhoBetta” is a positive affirmation & question towards yourself or others; When you answer that question it should nobody, due to the fact that no one can be better than you being yourself. With that we created an inspiring mantra between family & friends that also turned into business for music, fitness, & food.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am a music artist (Rapper, Songwriter, Engineer) from Chicago Illinois, residing in Los Angeles California. What’s most exciting about what I do & who I am is the dedication towards my journey. I sacrificed a lot of time to stay inspired in my music career to keep showing up for what it is that I love to do. The WhoBetta brand has taken me so many places & gotten me thru so many doors because I’m not alone. I drive my music from a place of authenticity and truth where I’m not afraid to share to the world if they were to hear. As of late I’ve been focusing on building the brand more with expansion in different areas such as fitness. I also love to write music for new & more established artists. With over 30 placements in my first year of doing that I’m very excited for these releases. As for myself I’m working on a new project titled “SE7F!” (SELF) where each song is cohesive with the ideas of duality of emotions. Such as chakras & color psychology where I themed the description of each song. Aligning 7 songs that I put together to show you where they are coming from it is my most conceptive project thus far an I cant wait to put it out.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I’d say it came down to RHYTHM, BALANCE, and LEADERSHIP

Rhythm was my first teacher through rhymes.
Before I even knew what business was, I knew how to flow.
Rhyming taught me how to hear life; the ups, the downs, the pockets between moments where you gotta breathe before you move. It gave me timing and that timing turned into patience.
For anybody starting out, find your rhythm first. Whether that’s in music, skating, or life — once you know your rhythm, nobody can throw you off beat.

Balance came from skateboarding.
You can’t fake balance. You fall, you learn.
Skating taught me how to take hits and still roll forward.
It’s that art of failing with style; you get up, brush off, and go again ‘cause you know your body remembers what the mind fears.
If you’re early in your journey, embrace the falls. Every scrape’s a lesson in motion.

And last, leadership; that came from my people.
Discipline with my team, my brothers, my circle; that built WhoBetta.
We held each other accountable when nobody was watching.
Leadership ain’t just telling folks what to do; it’s being the one who does it first.
So my advice? Be the example before you preach the message.
If you show consistency, your team will follow your rhythm, your balance, your energy.

At the end of the day, WhoBetta isn’t just a name; it’s a reminder.
It’s saying, “Who betta to be than your true self?”
So keep your rhythm sharp, your balance steady, and your leadership grounded; and watch what you build start to move with purpose.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Am I looking to collaborate? 1000%. That’s what WhoBetta’s all about; connection, creation, and community.

Right now, I’m building something bigger than just music; it’s lifestyle, it’s movement, it’s culture. We got the WhoBetta Burger poppin’ off inside my cousin’s spot, Can’t Believe It’s Not Meat, out in Chicago. That’s family business right there; plant-based comfort food with flavor, discipline, and heart. It’s more than a restaurant; it’s a representation of where hustle meets health; that same balance I preach in the gym, in the studio, and in life.

I’m bringing music, fitness, and food under one umbrella; that “whole self” energy. So when I talk collabs, I’m not just talking features. I’m talking partnerships that push the vision forward; folks who live with purpose, create with meaning, and move with discipline.

Musically, I’d love to tap in with Super Duper Kyle — my brother actually produces for him, so it’s only right we reconnect that energy and make something fun, something free. I also got respect for Big Sean; one of my best friends, OG Webbie & his mentor Mano, produce for him, so that Detroit-to-Chicago connection already in motion. That’s synergy waiting to happen.

But it ain’t just about the big names; I want to work with new artists too. The ones who are hungry, who look up to me, or even just get me; the ones who can relate to that “WhoBetta” mindset: believing in yourself before the world does. If you’re a producer, songwriter, or creative entrepreneur trying to build something real, let’s connect.

And on the business side — I’m open to venture partners and angel investors who see the long game. WhoBetta ain’t just a brand, it’s an ecosystem; from the music, to the merch, to the meals. We’re building community wealth, health, and culture all in one.

If you’re reading this and want to collaborate, tap in with the movement — @RealJuanDon on all platforms. Reach out with purpose, come with vision, and let’s make something that represents the best version of ourselves.

Because at the end of the day; Who Betta than us?
