We’re looking forward to introducing you to Carissa Rolle. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Carissa, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Something outside of work that brings me joy lately would be taking my kids to the park or our “mini” field trips around the city and seeing new places that we have never seen before.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! My name is Carissa Rolle and I am the proud owner of Rissabae’s Classroom and Caring for People Worldwide Royally Inc. Rissabae’s Classroom is a tutoring/mentoring business that is open to all walks of life. I have students from the age of 2 all the way to 36! Teaching has been my passion since I was 3 years old and I never lost sight of it. As I got older, I realized I wanted to do more than just teach but reach more people. I am also an author and currently in the process of publishing 2 books. Caring for People Worldwide Royally Inc. is a performing arts program as well as a mentoring program that lets students show off their talents and skills while still learning life skills. We also host retreats for girls in middle and high school.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
The person who saw me clearly before I could see myself was my pre-k and kindergarten teacher Mrs. Trotter! Mrs. Trotter is honestly the reason why I became a teacher and found my passion in education. When I was in her class I used to go home with her and teach the toys and stuff animals at her house. I repeated everything that I learned in class and was able to teach it to them in different ways. Mrs. Trotter and her husband Mr. Trotter were so impressed with what they saw that they knew teaching was my calling.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one thing to my younger self, it would definitely be pick up more hobbies and create side hustle out of them. I did many things growing up with instruments and sports and some things I continued and some things I let go. Music as a side hustle has not only been fun for me but very rewarding to my students. Music also helps with education and writing educational songs has been a joy for me as well.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that my kids, my family and my career is what really matters to me. I go really hard for all those things and without those things my motivation in life would probably be low.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
The story that I hope people tell about me when I am gone is how passionate I am as a person. I want kids to know that they can do anything they put their mind to. I want people to say the love that I show rubs off on the people that really means the most to me which in turn makes them want to show the same love to others. I want my kids to say they had a great role model and want to mirror that with their own children.
