We recently had the chance to connect with Janel Nichole H. and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Janel , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
God has now called me to serve His people in a new way. I recently shared that I am transitioning from my beauty brand to focus on life coaching and mentoring full time. I wouldn’t say I was truly afraid, but rather hesitant to get started. Since 2020, I have been mentoring, but my earlier focus was primarily on helping others in building their brands. It was in 2024 that I chose to shift my mentoring approach to help individuals focus on the CORE of who they were. Many people are busy building their brands and businesses, yet they often forget to invest in themselves. They fail to realize that the success of their business is directly linked to their own well-being.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Janel. I am the owner of Diamond Effect By JNichole, Impactful Direction, and also the creator of the Ultimate Silk & Thermal Shield. I am a Global Instructor, I’ve had the privilege of teaching over 2,000 students across more than 11 countries. In addition to that, I serve as a mentor and life coach, and also a transformative speaker. My man goal is to serve individuals in the ways they truly need. Recently, I celebrated 7 years in business and made the decision to embrace my true calling. It wasn’t easy stepping away from my beauty brand to focus on mentoring, but I am genuinely excited about this new chapter in my life! My goal is to empower as many people as possible to discover their true purpose and to do so with confidence.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
First and foremost, God saw me clearly before I truly understood myself. It takes me back to Jeremiah 1:5, where God tells Jeremiah, “I knew you before you were born.” When I began to see myself the way that God did, everything shifted for me! Another individual who saw my potential at a young age and consistently encouraged me was my late cousin Narissa (Sha). Many of the achievements I have made and the things I a currently do, she always believed I would accomplish! I think of her every single day!
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to be patient and trust the process. Have faith in the journey. It always gets better! What feels challenging in the moment is literally just that!. It’s only for but a moment!
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Striving to be the best mother I can for my daughter! Offering her the opportunities and things I never had..
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
I do it now. I show up each and everyday and put forth my best effort. My best looks different each day, but I show up without seeking applause daily. I’m not doing what I do for a show, I’m doing it to leave an impact. I’m here to make a difference. I don’t require recognition for doing what God has called me to do. If anything God deserves all the praise!
