We’re looking forward to introducing you to Andriy Stefanyshyn. Check out our conversation below.
Andriy, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
It really depends on the moment. Some days feel clear and full of purpose, others feel more like wandering—but I’ve come to realize that both are part of the journey.
I’ve been behind the camera for 16 years now, and I’m still as inspired as I was on day one. That passion has never faded. Sometimes, you just have to surrender a little—let go of control and allow creativity to lead the way.
But at the same time, I believe in setting goals. In today’s world, especially in creative fields, it’s important to treat your passion like a business. Inspiration is the spark, but structure is what keeps the fire burning.
So maybe I’m walking a path… but I’m open to taking the scenic route.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a content creator specializing in travel-focused photography and video production. Over the past 16 years, I’ve built a career creating high-quality, story-driven content for a wide range of industries—from automotive and fashion to science and tourism.
What sets my work apart is its adaptability. In today’s fast-paced digital world, brands don’t always have the time or budget to hire a full crew for every campaign. I offer a solution: fully licensed content—photo or video—that can be tailored to a brand’s unique voice and needs, without compromising on quality or impact.
My work has been used in everything from global ad campaigns to targeted social media rollouts. I approach each project with both creative passion and a business mindset, always aiming to create visuals that not only look great but also work—for the message, the audience, and the brand behind it.
Right now, I’m continuing to explore new places, push creative boundaries, and collaborate with forward-thinking brands that see the value in authentic, visually-driven storytelling.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Creativity was always there, curiosity too. I saw the world differently, noticed details others missed, felt most alive when I was exploring or creating. But like many people, I had to go through the noise of expectations and outside opinions before I realized that the version of myself I was looking for was already there from the beginning.
It just took time, confidence, and experience to trust it.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There were definitely moments when the pressure of just providing for myself and staying afloat took all my focus. It’s easy to get lost in the daily grind, especially when you’re trying to make something work. But whenever I thought about giving up, I reminded myself that if you’re truly passionate about your journey, you can’t quit. Life is too short to pursue anything that doesn’t light you up. Even in tough times, I had to remember why I started and keep pushing forward.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies is that you need to be famous, have the best gear, or a big personality to make it. The truth is, none of that guarantees real success.
What truly matters is the work—your ability to create powerful, meaningful visuals that connect with people. If your content tells a story, moves someone, or solves a problem for a brand, then you bring real value. Clients don’t care about hype—they care about results.
Creativity, vision, and consistency will always speak louder than followers or expensive equipment.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
In this industry, there are no guarantees that what holds value today will still matter in five or ten years. Technology changes, trends shift, and audiences evolve.
But what I am doing is investing in myself—learning new skills, refining my craft, and staying curious. I’m constantly exploring new tools, platforms, and ways of telling stories. That kind of growth doesn’t always have an immediate payoff, but it keeps me relevant and adaptable.
Long-term success comes from building a mindset that evolves with the industry—not just chasing what’s trending now, but preparing for what’s coming next.
