DoubleTime Twins Ava & Loretta shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi DoubleTime Twins, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Who are you learning from right now?
Matt Steffanina
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! We’re Ava and Loretta – identical twins. We were born/raised in Long Island, NY, lived in Los Angeles and now in Las Vegas.
In New York we worked full time Media jobs Monday – Friday 9-5. At night and on the weekends we taught Dance Fitness classes and performed in shows/events all over Long Island and NYC.
We moved to Los Angeles to pursue dance and fitness full time. We definitely learned a lot in LA and grew as all around entertainers.
We moved to Las Vegas to continue evolving and it’s going so great. Right now a big focus for us is growing our YouTube.
We started YouTube 15 years ago posting dance fitness videos and it was going well. Our views were high and people seemed
To really like our content. However,
There were some hateful and mean comments on our videos, which really discouraged us from posting so much. After that, we sporadically posted videos from Our dance fitness classes and live performances. The views were not that high so we didn’t really care too much about it.
Now – we are posting more consistently and have millions of views. We actually just hit 100,000 subscribers and will be receiving an award from YouTube. So we are super excited to be back on our YouTube journey and continue to grow our channel. Matt Steffanina was and is a huge inspiration to us and we’re so grateful to have him as a mentor now.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
We were born showgirls – we know that sounds so cliche because Taylor Swift “Life of a Showgirl” is trending right now, but it’s true. We have been performers for as long as we can remember and every job we’ve had has helped us be the showgirls we are today. We’re so grateful and excited to continue to learn and grow.
There were moments when we didn’t think we could really pursue this dream. Fear of failure, financial stability and leaving our comfort zone in NY were all factors. Our insecurity was the biggest one and we’re so grateful we fought through it.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes there were many times! Most of
Them happened when we were living in Los Angeles because we were stressing about paying rent.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
The Universe has your back.
When you’re struggling – Remember you’re why, Don’t give up and stay consistent.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
We are doing what we were born to do.
