We recently had the chance to connect with Flor C. and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Flor, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
My day starts drinking a glass of lemon warm water and journaling. It helps me to keep focus and leave all the things that I dont wanna keep with me in the paper.
Then I try to meditate at least 10-15 minutes and having a nutritive breakfast. Skin care also cant be miss.
After all my self love routine, I open social medias.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Flor, I’m a dancer and yoga teacher.
I started to take dance lessons when I was 8 and I won a scholarship to study in New York in 2022.
Life no always was so kind. When I returned to my country, Argentina, my dad had a stroke and it changed completely my plans. I felt lost, paralized and uncapable to process all the events that I was living.
Since I was a child I feel a huge connection with yoga but I never gave space to study it and let into my life….until that moment.
Yoga helped me to move on, to see life with other perspective, to be present, to calm fears and anxietes and showed me that I’ve always be connected with it, just I didn’t know.
That’s why I created “Vinyanza method” (vinyasas through dance) where I combine the joy of dancing and express ourselves freely and no judgement, mixing it with flow and yoga discipline.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
In an office, working 8 hours per day in a job that I had no type of interest but it gave me “economical stabilility”.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
When I understood that I wasn’t the only one who was experiencing something so difficult. I realized that I can help not only to me but also people who was in the same vibe.
I believe that recognizing and accepting a problem is the first step to healing it.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
My method.
I wanna see it grow, make it known, expand it around the world.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What false labels are you still carrying?
“You’re too old to dance, to try something new…”
I don’t know why but this fals lebel pursue me since I was 20! lol
