We recently had the chance to connect with Ticina Williams and have shared our conversation below.
Ticina , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day usually set the tone for everything else. As a mom of four and a business owner, my mornings start early. I take a few quiet moments for prayer and reflection before diving into the flow of getting my youngest ready for school and checking in with my older sons. Once the house is moving, I make sure to review my priorities for the day — whether that’s preparing for a client project, managing community work, or developing new digital products for my shop. I try to balance that mix of family, faith, and focus before officially jumping into meetings, emails, or design work. Those first 90 minutes aren’t just about routine; they’re about grounding myself so I can give my best to both my family and my business.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Ticina Williams, owner of Creativiti Custom Designs and Events. A few years ago, I took a couple of crafting classes on a whim, and what began as a hobby has grown into a brand that’s been helping people celebrate life’s moments for over a decade. What makes Creativiti unique is that I handcraft and design all of my own products, clipart, and collections, while also offering full-service event planning backed by my experience in hospitality and tourism management. I am currently launching my online shop featuring digital products and preparing for holiday pop-ups, continuing to merge creativity with community impact.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
I’d say I got the most about work from my mother and grandmother. They were my first examples of what it means to not only work hard, but to carry that work ethic with a spirit of help and service. Watching them, I learned that success isn’t measured only by what you accomplish for yourself, but by how you show up for others and create opportunities that make life better for your family and community. My grandmother showed me the value of resilience and faith, teaching me that no matter the circumstance, you keep moving forward with dignity. My mother, to this day, is one of the hardest working people I know. She juggled so much with grace and determination, and I often think of her when I’m faced with challenges in my own journey. From them, I inherited not just a work ethic, but also the drive to pour into others — whether it’s through my business, my family, or the community I serve.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be: trust the process. Every challenge, every setback, and every late night of doubt was not wasted — it was shaping the woman you were becoming. You may not see it now, but one day you’ll look back and realize that those crafting classes you took on a whim were the spark that grew into Creativiti Custom Designs and Events, a brand that celebrates stories, cultures, and milestones in ways only you could imagine. You’ll see that your heart for helping others, instilled by your mother and grandmother, would carry you beyond business into community leadership, opening doors for others to thrive. So don’t rush, don’t compare because your journey is uniquely yours. In the end, it will not only work out, it will unfold into something more beautiful than you ever dreamed.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that what really matters to me is family, community, and creating spaces where people feel seen and celebrated. They know I care deeply about showing up for the people I love, whether that’s my sons, my husband, or the community I serve. They’d also say that I value creativity and purpose — that for me, it’s never just about making something pretty, but about making something meaningful. At the heart of it, what matters most to me is leaving a positive impact and making sure the people around me know they matter.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope the story people tell about me when I’m gone is that I lived a life of purpose and service. That I took something as simple as a few crafting classes on a whim and turned it into a brand that celebrated culture, joy, and milestones in a way that made people feel seen. I hope they’ll say I never stopped showing up for my family, my community, and my faith — that I carried forward the spirit of hard work and helping others that my mother and grandmother instilled in me. More than the events I planned or the products I designed, I want my legacy to be about the lives I touched, the doors I helped open, and the inspiration I left behind. If the story told is that I created joy, built community, and showed others that anything is possible when you trust the process, then that’s the kind of legacy I’ll be proud of.
