We recently had the chance to connect with Parris Balazs and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Parris, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are usually reserved for quiet focus. I start with a cup of coffee and use that uninterrupted time for what I call brain work such as budgeting, timelines, and detailed planning that requires full concentration. It is my most productive window before the emails and calls start coming in, and it sets the tone for an organized and efficient day.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Parris Balazs, owner and lead planner of Eventfully Chic, a wedding planning and design firm based in Columbia, South Carolina. Since 2018, I’ve helped couples bring their love stories to life through thoughtfully curated celebrations that are stylish, organized, and full of personality.
Eventfully Chic was built on the belief that wedding planning should be just as joyful as the day itself. My team and I balance creativity with precision, handling every logistical detail so our couples can stay present and excited throughout the process.
What makes our brand special is our heart. We genuinely care about every couple, every family, and every vendor we work with. From budget management to event design, we approach each wedding as if it were our own, ensuring no moment or memory is overlooked.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment that really shaped how I see the world was realizing that I get to spend my career surrounded by love. Nearly every weekend, I witness families coming together, friends celebrating, and couples promising forever. It is impossible not to be moved by that. Being immersed in those moments of joy, gratitude, and connection has changed my perspective on what truly matters. It reminds me daily that love in all its forms is what drives people, heals hearts, and makes life meaningful. Working in that kind of environment keeps me grounded, grateful, and inspired to bring that same sense of love and care into everything I do.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I have never truly felt like giving up because this work is my calling. Of course, there have been long days and challenging moments, but even in those times, I have always known I am doing exactly what I am meant to do. Creating meaningful celebrations and serving others in such a joyful way gives me purpose and fulfillment that outweighs every obstacle. This path has tested me, but it has also shaped me, and I cannot imagine doing anything else.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, absolutely. What you see online is exactly who I am in person. Our Instagram is full of energy, joy, and personality, and that truly reflects how I show up every day. I love connecting with people, celebrating their stories, and finding the fun in even the busiest moments. The bubbly, upbeat tone you see through Eventfully Chic’s content isn’t a persona – it’s a genuine reflection of how I approach both life and my work.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
Right now, I am building a sister brand called Balazs Events, which focuses on serving the luxury market. It is a long-term investment in quality, reputation, and relationships, and I know the full impact will take time to grow. Every detail from branding and systems to client experience is being built with intention for where I want the business to be in the next decade. While I hope to see those results sooner than seven years, I am committed to the long game and confident that the foundation I am laying now will lead to something truly lasting.
