Meet Nicole Marburger

We recently connected with Nicole Marburger and have shared our conversation below.

Nicole, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

In my heart, I always new that I could really be fulfilled by teaching and leading people. Growing up I was a social butterfly in my small town of Challis Idaho. I was always managing my time with many friend groups and getting to know different people with different personalities. When I stepped into Studio Beauty School in Spokane WA, I could feel a change in my soul like this is where I am suppose to be and this job was going to grow me and help me to reach my future goals. My husband Jaymis Marburger and his two parents Vicky and Wes Marburger truly inspired me to learn a trade and learn how to instruct people to be successful in the beauty Industry. I owe alot to my husband Jaymis. He is the one who helped me to have the courage to start in this Industry. I used to be a wildland firefighter and I have been a barista as well. Both of these jobs were fun but not fulfilling enough for me. I found my purpose and I was meant to be instructing and leading people through the field of Beauty.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am a Licensed Esthetics Instructor and I am a Beauty School Owner in Missoula MT. Our School name is Studio Beauty School Missoula. We have three trades; Cosmetology, Esthetics, and Manicuring. What is special about my job is I get to help people learn a new trade and be a positive influence in their life when they are going through a season of change. Change can be very overwhelming and stressful. Another thing that is really special and i truly enjoy about my job is giving tours of our school. These are really exciting and i love getting to know their stories before they choose to sign with us! I also get to be their support and help to guide them into a new career that will transform their life and help them to make their dreams a reality. As far as our “Brand” our school motto is “Students First, Salon Second,” and we do like our students to know that they are considered family. We will help take care of them forever. We will be working on our Salon Fair Event for January so stay tuned for that. We will soon be offering a Brazilian Blowout Class along with a hand tied hair extension two day class. This is all very fun and new for my school!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The three qualities or skills that I would love to share with everyone are these:

1. Consistency
2. Communication
3. Willingness to learn

All three of these have made me who I am today.
Without these I would not have a successful Beauty School.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

I would say my biggest area of growth this year would be becoming a mom. This year I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, her name is Bellamay. I am 33 years old and have been able to work as much as i want and complete whatever was on my checklist for that day. Becoming a mom has really humbled me. I have learned how to run multiple businesses all while getting two hours of sleep haha. She has been the highlight of our lives and i cannot wait to continue to see how she challenges me and softens me as a person. This will be the biggest challenge of my life!
