We recently connected with Karina Bromberg and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Karina, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I think confidence and self-esteem are things we build continuously — they naturally fluctuate depending on what’s happening in our lives, like after a “failure,” a “success,” or when we’re facing something new. Over time, I realized that for my own growth, confidence will only strengthen if I separated it from my career accomplishments.
It’s easy, especially in the entertainment industry, to let your sense of worth depend on external validation or achievements — but so much of that is out of your control. Entertainment is often about the bigger picture, and many times your talent is just one factor of what makes up the picture. I decided to anchor my self-esteem instead in my values, my behaviour, and my personal growth. I focus on how I’ve evolved compared to who I was a year, a month, or even a week ago.
After all, it’s called self-esteem for a reason — I think it should always revolve around who *you* are.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Karina Bromberg is a performer, creative director and business woman whose work lives at the intersection of movement, storytelling, and community. With education in business and years of experience performing and creating across disciplines, Karina brings both artistry and structure to everything she does.
She’s the founder of rishon. art showcase, an immersive art experience that has quickly become a hub for connection and collaboration within Vancouver’s creative scene. Designed to bring together artists, dancers, designers, and musicians from diverse backgrounds, rishon. has grown into a vibrant space where boundaries between art forms dissolve and new ideas take shape.
Beyond choreography, Karina also works as an actor and voiceover artist — exploring storytelling through different mediums while continuing to expand her creative reach. Now based in Los Angeles, she’s focused on developing rishon. further, building bridges between the Canadian and U.S. art communities, and creating more opportunities for artists to share their work in immersive, emotionally charged ways.
There’s an undeniable sense of intention behind everything Karina does — a belief that art has the power to connect people, tell truth, and spark collaboration. And with her blend of creative vision and entrepreneurial mindset, she’s doing exactly that.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The first that comes to mind is organization – time management for me is everything and how I manage to expand and explore in different directions all the time. Since I can remember myself, I was always doing 500 things at once. School, full-time job in my area of study, dance work, producing and directing work, acting, voice over, all together! Knowing how to structure my day, organizing my schedule ahead of time is what allows me to do more!
Secondly, I would say being open-minded. To people from different backgrounds, to new experiences, to new communication styles… we meet and work with such diverse groups of people which is a very positive experience when you’re open minded to receiving, working together and adapting – while keeping your core. I like to find what I can relate to authentically in my life, and build off of that.
Lastly, communication. Entertainment is highly reliant on how you communicate your talent and brand, interact with others and collaborate with others. It is rarely a one man job and communication is key to navigating different rooms (job to job) and diverse environments.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
Trying! Just going for it. Those who know me closely gave me the title of “queen of execution”, which I humbly accept. I often don’t think or see myself as the most talented to execute certain ideas, but I still do, which gives me the practice and validation that I can do it – making me better at the craft itself (because with experience comes professionalism) and as a person that proved to themselves, ‘I can do it’.
I believe trial and practice is at the root of our development, and often when I am faced with an obstacle or challenge – I come to the conclusion that I don’t have much to lose if I try the new thing in front of me. Additionally, I often get a great sense of satisfaction and confidence after I attempt to face the challenge head on.
