Meet Julia Speedy

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Julia Speedy. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Julia, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?

I have always been a sensitive, empathetic being who cares about others although I would say my mother has taught me very well to be polite and kind and to give to others, to give back to the world. My father has always been a super helpful human as well.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am a passionate drawer, painter, and content creator. My art is mainly realism as well as abstract and cartoon. I create because I feel like it is the best way to release and express. Creating brings me joy. Also, I plan on having a running shop soon where I would be selling my art and designs on products.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Patience, Perseverance, and Trust.

I know easier said than done but, try not to compare yourself. Every single person has his or her own unique journey. Faith will get you so far. The more you feed into faith, the better. Obstacles are bound to come up but don’t let them completely deter you. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Know that if there’s a will, there’s a way. Trust in divine timing.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

I try to take it one step at a time. Take it easy. I realize a little bit can go a long way… take it little by little. Remember that pain is temporary. Take a moment to breathe. Focus on solutions and imagine a state of peace.
