We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Keona Herbert a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Keona, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose through Keyoir. When I started, I just wanted to create something beautiful but as I connected with the women wearing the lashes, I realized it was so much deeper than beauty. It was about confidence, identity, and being seen.
Keyoir became my way of reminding women, our KeyBabes that they are worthy, strong, and powerful. That’s when I knew this was my purpose: to build something that empowers and reflects the beauty within every woman who wears it.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am the founder of Keyoir, a beauty movement created to empower women to feel seen, confident, and unstoppable. What began as a lash brand has grown into a community called the KeyBabes, where beauty and self-belief come together.
At Keyoir, every lash style tells a story, from Ambitious to Graceful, reminding women to embrace every version of themselves with pride. Keyoir represents empowerment woven into every product, message, and experience.
I am preparing to expand the Keyoir product line in 2026, continuing our mission to blend beauty and purpose in new ways. My goal is to build a space where women feel inspired to express their power, their softness, and their worth all at once.
At Keyoir, beauty reflects how you feel within.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The qualities that shaped my journey are resilience, awareness, and truth. Resilience taught me to keep believing in my vision even when things felt uncertain. Awareness helped me stay connected to my purpose and move with intention. Truth reminded me to create from the heart and to always lead with authenticity. Each experience, challenge, and win has helped me grow into the woman and founder I am becoming.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I start to feel overwhelmed, I pause and give myself permission to breathe. I’ve learned that slowing down doesn’t mean losing momentum, it’s how I realign with my purpose. I take time to pray, journal, or simply sit in silence until I feel grounded again.
My advice is to give yourself grace. You can’t pour into your vision from an empty space. Rest is a form of discipline, and peace is where clarity begins.
