Meet Chris Mari

We were lucky to catch up with Chris Mari recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

At least for myself, resilience comes from two things, faith and confidence.

Faith in terms of everything that is happening to me at any moment in life (good or bad) is for a certain reason, and having confidence in the fact that it’s always going to work out in some form or another.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Im a golf instructor and digital content creator based out of Orlando, FL!

I am currently the Director of Instruction over at Topgolf Lake Mary, and I have been there since January of 2025.

Seeing how I have grown in this role, alongside how my workplace has changed around me has been an interesting journey to say the least, and I am looking forward to the future of where I go from here.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Always be open to learning something new when it comes to golf teaching methodologies was always huge for me. The golf industry is ever changing, and staying on top of those changes keeps me informed as a golf coach, alongside it helps me relay critical information over to my clients when its needed.

The second thing is being able to communicate. Being able to convey the same message to my clients in multitude of different ways is huge so they can understand what they’re learning and how to apply it to their games in the simplest way possible.

The third critical piece is learning about golf equipment, specifically on the fitting side.

Being a teacher in this game while simultaneously understanding how equipment can greatly affect the user and how to get custom fit as been a huge help when it comes to helping people get better at this game.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?

Live every day with the 100% intention and no regret. Tell the people close to me that they are loved, heard, and seen, and that their problems aren’t as big as they think it is and that you would be okay once I’m gone.

I would also try to figure out a way how to help as many people as I can with the little amount of time I would have left to make sure I am leaving a positive impact on the world.
