Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Amos A with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

Growing up, I learned the value of hard work and dedication from my family. My parents instilled in me a profound respect for the effort and determination it takes to achieve one’s goals. I witnessed my father working tirelessly to provide for us, often taking on extra jobs to ensure we had what we needed. My mother, a beacon of resilience, balanced the demands of our household with grace and tenacity. Their unwavering commitment to our family’s well-being taught me that there is honor and strength in diligence.

As I grew older, this foundation of work ethic was further cemented by my time in the Air Force. There, I experienced firsthand the discipline, responsibility, and teamwork that define military service. The Air Force challenged me to push beyond my limits and instilled a sense of duty and perseverance that continues to guide my actions.

Serving in the military was not just about fulfilling a role; it was about committing to something greater than myself. The camaraderie among fellow service members fostered an environment where hard work was not just expected but celebrated. The structure and expectations of the military honed my skills and refined my understanding of what it means to give one’s all.

The combination of these life experiences, my faith in God, my family’s teachings and my military service has built a resilient work ethic within me. This drive is not merely about achieving success for personal gain, but about contributing positively to those around me and honoring the values instilled in me from a young age. Today, whether faced with professional tasks or personal challenges, I carry this ethic with pride, striving to make a meaningful impact in everything I do for my family and community.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am passionate about blending poetry and visual art to create meaningful and inspiring experiences. Currently, I am working on my second book of poetry, which serves as a creative nucleus for my artwork. I use my poetry as inspiration to design artwork for skateboard decks, with each design telling a unique story that resonates with viewers and riders alike.

What makes my work special is the way it combines words and visuals to forge a deeper connection. The stories within my poetry are brought to life through the artwork on the decks, turning them into moving pieces of art that go beyond just being functional items—they become conversations, expressions, and sources of inspiration.

My brand, Sinkhole 42, holds special significance. The name symbolizes a portal—an entry point into a world of creativity and storytelling. It represents a space where ideas, emotions, and passions collide to form something original and authentic.

Looking ahead, I am excited to expand Sinkhole 42 by launching new skateboard designs, hosting art and poetry events, and sharing my work with a broader community. I believe that art and poetry have the power to inspire change and foster connection, and I am committed to continuing this journey of artistic expression and storytelling.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I believe the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are patience, honesty, and understanding. These qualities create a strong foundation for growth, authenticity, and meaningful connection. Keep nurturing them, and your journey will be all the more fulfilling.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

My father shaped my confidence and resilience. By encouraging me to know who I am rather than seeking external validation, he helped me develop independent thinking, emotional resilience, and the courage to pursue goals despite criticism. Those lessons guided my decision making, improved my leadership, and helped me learn from failure without losing direction.
