Meet JOSEFINA DELAVEAU EGUILUZ

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful JOSEFINA DELAVEAU EGUILUZ a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

JOSEFINA, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

I get my confidence and self esteem from my ability to achieve the goals I set for myself. Every time I decide to do something, I focus completely on it until I make it happen. When I finally achieve it, it reminds me that I’m capable of even bigger things. That’s been the story behind most of my accomplishments at a young age, each success shows me that if I could do that, I can do anything.

I’ve also learned that everyone has their own path and pace. It’s not always easy, but once you stop comparing yourself to others, you realize the only real competition is with yourself and that mindset pushes you further. I’ve always had this drive and excitement to take on the world, and that’s what keeps me motivated and confident.
Maybe what success mean
And maybe my definition of success is very different from yours, but that’s okay. What really matters is doing things for yourself and because they make you proud and fulfilled.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’ve learned the most about myself through difficult situations. I spent four years traveling nonstop through 18 countries, and it wasn’t always perfect , but the challenges were what truly showed me how capable I am and how much I can grow. Every time I faced something hard, I discovered a new part of myself and a new strength I didn’t know I had.

Right now, I co-run a training agency with my brother that prepares future yacht crew members. What I love most about it is helping people step out of their comfort zone and improve their lives and financial situation. We not only train them but also guide them through their job search process.

I’m also working on two upcoming projects that will launch in 2026: one is an app designed for people in the yachting industry, and the other is a platform for psychic readings. These three things, my agency, the app, and the platform truly inspire me. I’m passionate about all of them because they allow me to connect with people, help them grow, and create something meaningful.

Now, I’m excited and a bit anxious to see all the seeds I’ve planted this year bloom in 2026.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that have had the biggest impact on my journey are my drive, my organization, and the people I’ve surrounded myself with.

First, I’ve always had this strong desire to take on the world, to learn, explore, and never settle. That curiosity and hunger for growth have pushed me to go further every time.

Second, being organized and learning how to plan ahead has been key. I always try to anticipate challenges and have a plan A, B, and C for everything. That mindset has helped me stay calm and confident even when things don’t go as expected.

And lastly, surrounding myself with brilliant, inspiring people has made a huge difference. When I worked as yacht crew, I had the privilege of working for yacht owners who are among the few truly visionary minds in the world and that exposure shaped the way I think and the goals I aspire to.

My advice for anyone early in their journey would be: stay curious, plan smart, and choose carefully who you spend your time with because ambition and vision are contagious.”

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

My parents did lots of things for me, but one thing that they gave was a conversation I will never forget , a few lessons have stayed with me forever.

One day, when I was going through a difficult time, my dad sat next to my bed and said, ‘You have to get up. Life isn’t easy, life is unfair, but I promise that if you get up now, you’ll be ready for the next obstacles life throws at you. You’ve already jumped over one stone and if you could do it once, you’ll be able to do it again.’ My dad is the kindest and most noble man I know, and his words taught me resilience and strength.

My mom, on the other hand, is the most empathetic and good-hearted person I’ve ever met. She taught me that when someone hurts you whether in love, friendship, or business , you should never seek revenge or become like them. Forgiving and letting go isn’t easy, but it’s freeing, and it’s how you stay at peace with yourself.

Those two lessons , strength and forgiveness have shaped the person I am today.
