An Inspired Chat with Christopher Smith of Atlanta

Christopher Smith shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Christopher, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are dedicated to putting myself first through my self-care routine. I get a short workout in, shower, and speak my affirmations. It grounds me and allows me to start the day with clarity and ease.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is 2Benjii, I am a recording artist, and media professional, a Son, child of god, the son of Shaheedah El-amin and Tony Smith, my brand 2benjii ent I like to refer to as being the bridge to ones dreamland, we handle everything from creative services to pr services, we help upcoming creators and small businesses establish credibility and a solid foundational plan, marketing to propel them into bigger spaces, rooms and platforms through our resources, I would say what makes it special is one me being an artist myself I know firsthand how it is coming up in the game and how difficult it can be to navigate what resources you really need and what matters versus the spam, as far as my story the main thing I want them to know is this dream was planted in me as a child, and ive always held on to it and myself throughout this process, still going through it but it feels good I never compromised who I am to get to where I am, still keeping god first and my family with me, its important that we highlight these things as we continue to excel, you never know where your strength can come from

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
This is a deep question. My earliest memory brings me to my 5th-grade teacher, Mr. Tracey. He could be really tough on me, and I remember he had a heavy Jamaican accent. But he always pushed me to read, present, and put myself into competitions. At the time, I didn’t think I was any different from the other students, but looking back, he clearly saw something in me before I did. I vividly remember him submitting me into poetry contests, reading competitions, and more, all at his encouragement. Those experiences were some of the earliest times I remember performing.

Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
I miss my grandmother, Diane. Not many people made me feel as comfortable as she did when I was a child. She gave me some of the most comforting and cherished memories I can think of—the environment she created, the things she showed me—it was just a really good feeling. She’s also the one who introduced me to my favorite cereal, Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Honestly, I’d say my mother. There aren’t many people I come across who carry the spirit she does. And I’m not just saying this as her son—seeing the world as a young man involved in a lot of things gives you perspective. The way my mother has navigated life with integrity, compassion, and strength is truly honorable. She’s an unsung hero in every sense, and I respect her on so many levels for what I’ve learned from her and witnessed her do. Honestly, I blame my good deeds and my heart on her—lol.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
I’m focused on forming and developing relationships that will benefit me in the long run—both within the community and on a professional level. I’m intentional about building genuine connections today that will not only support my growth but also create opportunities and stability for my future family.
