Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Melodythesuperstar of Boston

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Melodythesuperstar. Check out our conversation below.

Melodythesuperstar, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Who are you learning from right now?
Right now, I’m learning from my son.
He’s not taking “no” for an answer — and honestly, that’s teaching me something powerful.
He’s reminding me to fight for what I want, to keep pushing, and to accomplish every single thing I said I would do.
So the lesson for me is simple: no excuses — just determination.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Melody, also known as MelodyTheSuperstar — a singer, songwriter, and creator who lives and breathes music. I’m known for my catchy topline melodies, creative concepts, and vocal arrangements that blend emotion with energy. My work has been featured on Netflix, TV One (Miss Me This Christmas), The CW (All American: Homecoming), and most recently, on the CBS/Paramount daytime series Beyond the Gates, a new all-Black cast soap opera.

I’m especially excited about my recent collaboration with Reels, where I released two new sounds — “Sodalicious,” which is close to hitting one million views on Instagram, and “Pink Confetti,” which was featured in a Virgin Voyages commercial.

Over the years, I’ve written for incredible artists like Mýa, Alex Marley, Famous Dex, Mavado, Alkaline, and Inas X, and have even submitted songs for Beyoncé, Fantasia, Kelly Clarkson, and Teyana Taylor.

What makes my journey unique is that I create from a place of purpose — every melody I write carries a piece of my story, and every collaboration reminds me that music truly has no limits. Right now, I’m focused on expanding my creative reach through sync licensing and collaborations that push culture forward and bring joy to new audiences.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mom saw me clearly before I could see myself. She has always spoken life into me and reminded me that I can do anything I put my mind to. She was the first person to call me a star — in her native language, Haitian Creole, the word is “Vedette.” And to this day, she still calls me that. It’s a reminder that she saw my light long before the world did.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Hey Superstar — stop doubting yourself. You don’t need validation from anyone. I’m so proud of you — you’ve become everything you said you would and more. Take a breath, enjoy the ride, and keep shining. Oh, and look at you — helping and teaching young girls like yourself, just like you always wished someone had been there to teach you. You go Girl!

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is absolutely the real me. My personality is my superpower — I’m the life of the party both in public and in private. My family always looks to me to host and MC everything (and I love it!). I genuinely enjoy helping people feel comfortable, making them laugh, and bringing good energy wherever I go. I’m basically the celebrity of the family — and I wear that title proudly!

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had 10 years left, I’d stop wasting time — completely. I’ve already started doing this since my son was born. I’m finally doing all the things I said I would, one by one. I want him to see what it looks like to finish what you start and to launch the ideas placed in your heart — because they were given to you for a reason. I guess you could call me a serial entrepreneur, but really, I’m just someone who’s done waiting to live out her purpose.
