Meet Joanna Nisbet

We recently connected with Joanna Nisbet and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Joanna, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

Over the years I have found that my faith and my family can cure all the worries life throws my way. Each person in my life offers their own unique qualities in my heart, that I value dearly. I have also learned the importance of maintaining time for solitude. There’s a rare gift in finding peace in yourself. So I set aside time alone for prayer, reading, writing, and crafts. I have learned that our time here is fragile, and it is truly the quality of it that matters.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I only started writing a few years ago, I never even knew I had the gift. My first novel ‘in the heritance’ was the product of my over active imagination. I started to jot down notes in hopes of finding an author to complete my story. However, the characters took shape, the scenes formed in the background, and I could literally hear the conversations. My fingers typed so fast across the keyboard that I finished the entire manuscript in three months. Since no one is willing to take a chance on a ‘nobody,’ I had to invest in myself. With my husband’s help, I found a publisher that printed and bound my book and it is available on Amazon. From there I have spent the last two years writing and crafting. I have six completed manuscripts, three of which are available with no contract.
I am excited to say that I have two additional books coming out next year!
If readers want to assist, they can go to www.koehlerbooks.com to help choose my cover for ‘With Bated Breath.’ Pre-orders will take place in March 2026. From there they will start the editing process for ‘Grief’s Gift’ scheduled to release in December 2026. A perfect Christmas gift for the reader in your life.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Life’s not always easy, however, I’ve found peace in my faith. Make the time for what matters! Trust me if it matters to you, then you will find the time (even if that means setting your scrolling phone down.) Persevere! Never let a ‘no’ be too discouraging, there will be someone somewhere that will say ‘yes’ eventually. Invest in yourself, it’s your future, who’s better to back you?

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

It’s important for us to take advice. I would love to hear how people of influence got to where they are from where they started. I think it’s amazing how quickly things can change when someone takes a chance and says ‘yes’ for once. I believe in investing in myself, for my family and my future. However, you can’t even find someone to review the novel you already spent thousands of dollars to create, without spending even more money? Honestly, it’s the most expensive journey in my life. I pray it’s just as rewarding. If more people came together to just support each other, how much better life would be for all of us?
