We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Abby Sarage. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Abby below.
Abby, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
My confidence and self-esteem were shaped by three foundations: my parents, my experiences as an athlete, and most importantly, my faith in God.
Growing up, my parents constantly spoke life into me. They encouraged me, reminded me of my strengths, and pushed me to step into every opportunity with boldness. And when I wasn’t at my best, they didn’t shield me from the truth. They coached me, corrected me, and showed me how to improve. That balance of love and accountability built the groundwork for my confidence.
Basketball also played a huge part in shaping who I am. Playing from grade school through college taught me discipline, resilience, teamwork, and how to rise after setbacks. Sports have a way of building confidence without you even realizing it. Every challenge, every loss, and every hard practice shaped me into someone who shows up, pushes through, and believes in herself.
Most importantly, my confidence comes from God. Knowing who I am in Him, knowing that He equips me, guides me, and gives me purpose is the foundation that keeps me steady. Even when I doubt myself, I’m reminded that I’m not walking alone and that He placed the gifts I have inside me for a reason.
Between my faith, my upbringing, and the lessons athletics taught me, I’ve learned to trust myself, move with intention, and lead confidently in every space I walk into, including through TFS, where I now help others build that same confidence in their financial lives.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
At Tailored Financial Solutions (TFS), I help individuals and couples take charge of their financial future so they can experience real confidence and financial peace. I love reminding people that their worth isn’t defined by their income. It’s reflected in how they steward what they have. Whether someone is paying off debt, rebuilding their savings, preparing for homeownership, or learning how to manage money with intention, I meet them exactly where they are and help them build a plan that feels doable and empowering.
What makes TFS special is the heart behind the work. My passion comes from knowing that financial literacy can change not only someone’s bank account, but their mindset, their relationships, and their future. I truly enjoy helping clients see possibility again, especially when they’ve felt stuck or overwhelmed.
TFS is also growing. In addition to personal financial coaching, I’m expanding into supporting small business owners with strategic financial guidance. Many entrepreneurs struggle behind the scenes with pricing, budgeting, and understanding their numbers, so offering Business Financial Strategy will help them run their businesses with clarity and confidence.
At its core, TFS exists to serve, uplift, and guide, and I’m excited for everything that’s ahead.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three qualities that impacted my journey the most were discipline, compassion, and a willingness to learn.
Discipline taught me how to stay consistent even when motivation faded. From basketball to business, I learned early that showing up—especially on the days you don’t feel like it—builds confidence and results. Consistency is what moves you from wishing to winning.
Compassion shaped how I serve others. In financial coaching, you’re not just looking at numbers—you’re walking with people through fear, shame, confusion, and hope. Having a heart to see people succeed, without judgment, is what allows clients to feel safe enough to grow.
A willingness to learn kept me humble and hungry. I don’t believe in “arriving.” Whether it’s financial education, business strategy, or personal development, I’m constantly growing. God opened doors, but I had to do my part by preparing myself and staying teachable.
For those early in their journey, my advice is simple:
Be consistent even when it’s uncomfortable, lead with grace for yourself and others, and stay open to learning. Growth rarely happens in comfort, but it always happens with intention. Let God guide your steps and trust that each skill you build now will serve you later, even if you can’t see it yet.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am always open to partnering and collaborating. I love connecting with fellow financial educators, business strategists, and anyone passionate about improving financial literacy.
I’m available for speaking opportunities on budgeting, debt payoff, preparing for homeownership, and overall money management. On the business side, I enjoy teaching strategy for both startups and established owners, especially when it comes to building structure, organization, and healthier financial habits in both business and personal life.
I also love partnering with churches, schools, community programs, and small-business groups that are committed to helping their people grow financially and personally.
