We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Shannon Nottoli. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Shannon below.
Shannon , first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
Honestly, I still have moments of it, but I’ve learned to see imposter syndrome as proof that I’m growing. I remind myself that I built this from the ground up — from a tiny space in a closet to owning my own salon — and that didn’t happen by accident. Confidence came with experience and trusting my own vision.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m the owner of The Lux Loft, an upscale salon in downtown Fuquay-Varina. I started my lash business in a tiny closet and built it into a full-service beauty space specializing in lashes, brows, PMU, and tiny tattoos. What excites me most is creating a space where women feel confident and inspired—both clients and artists. We’ve recently expanded our services and love hosting classes and events that bring our community together

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I’d say resilience, creativity, and connection. Resilience kept me going when things felt impossible. Creativity helped me stand out in a saturated industry. And building real connections—with clients and other artists—made everything sustainable. For anyone starting out, don’t rush the process. Stay consistent, stay teachable, and trust that your hard work will show.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Absolutely! I love collaborating with other creatives in the beauty and lifestyle space—especially artists, educators, and local businesses who align with The Lux Loft’s vibe. I’m always open to pop-ups, content collabs, or events that empower women and support our community. The best way to connect is through Instagram @theluxloft or email [email protected]
