Meet Rosa Castillo

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rosa Castillo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Rosa, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?

Travel is one of my most meaningful forms of self-care. Stepping into new environments lets me reset my perspective and temporarily release daily responsibilities. Even short trips provide space for reflection and curiosity. The experience of navigating unfamiliar places reminds me to stay present and adaptable. When I return, I feel more grounded, energized, and open to creative problem-solving. This directly enhances my effectiveness at work; I communicate more thoughtfully, manage stress with greater ease, and collaborate more effectively. Travel helps me return to my responsibilities not depleted, but renewed, with a clearer sense of purpose and resilient in challenges

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I create travel-focused content and writing that encourages others to explore the world with curiosity and openness. What excites me most is sharing stories, perspectives, and practical guidance that make travel feel accessible, meaningful, and deeply personal. I believe travel can expand our sense of possibility, connect us with new ways of living, and remind us of our shared humanity.
My work centers on authentic experiences, thoughtful storytelling, and inspiring people to step outside routine. I’m also expanding into more immersive trip guides, community conversations, and travel-led workshops to help others feel supported and empowered as they explore the world.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are curiosity, adaptability, and consistency. Curiosity pushed me to explore new places and perspectives, and to share those experiences with others. Adaptability helped me navigate unfamiliar environments and shifting plans, both in travel and in building my platform. Consistency allowed my work to grow gradually and authentically over time.
For those early in their journey: stay open to learning, let yourself be a beginner, and don’t wait for perfect conditions to start. Small steps, taken consistently, create momentum. Trust that your voice and perspective are worth developing.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

The most impactful thing my parents did for me was teaching me to be responsible. They encouraged me to follow through on commitments, take ownership of my choices, and understand the importance of showing up for myself and others. Responsibility wasn’t presented as pressure, but as empowerment: the idea that I could shape my life through my decisions and effort. That foundation has carried into every area of my journey, from travel to storytelling to building my work. It gave me the confidence to trust myself, adapt when things get challenging, and stay committed to what I care about.
