Meet Lenny Emery

We were lucky to catch up with Lenny Emery recently and have shared our conversation below.

Lenny, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

Confidence and self esteem are about keeping promises to yourself and others. showing up no matter what is what builds confidence – and attacking things head one even if ti feels overwhelming. Nothing in this world is impossible – so the challenges in front of you? There’s your confidence builder.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I make music, movies, video games and work with artists, stories and brands to help create some of the most unique stories out there. Recently I directed a promo piece with Cardi B for Billboard, DJed a tour with PARADISE and ANELLA, wrapping up my first video game, preparing to drop some music, and working on a few scripts. Next month I will be producing another feature film. With lots of fun planned for 2026

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

keep going – ask questions – give yourself a break but jump back in when its time. Experiment as much as you can. Surround yourself with people who teach you and can show you the ropes – I used to sneak on set of commercial shoots when I was 18 because I wanted to learn. I’d just show up, uninvited, and start following producers and directors around.

10,000 in anything will get you to where you want to be!

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

My parents taught me how to create art, express myself, and not be scared of anything. It’s great parents in this world that create great people, so always have to be thankful that my parents supported my art, business, passions and more. My dad put a camera and a mini piano in my hand from a very early age – and the rest is history.
