Meet Megan Love

We recently connected with Megan Love and have shared our conversation below.

Megan , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

Hands down my parents, which some may say is also my downfall. But, I grew up watching both of them work hard at everything they touched. Whether career/job related or even just the daily grind. So much of my baseline comes from that. We can’t get from point A to point B without a strong work ethic. So that is my foundation. But, over the years I have also learned that work ethic/ perseverance go hand in hand and also adding in the creative juices. This combo allows for a lot of success or at least the potential for success. Without that combo, you only have to luck. I am not much of a gambler but I would rather bet on having those physical qualities than shear luck any day.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

The cafe is coming up on its 3rd bday end of February 2026. So getting established is the hardest part and I think we are kinda past that phase. The next phase for Fiddle Leaf looks like more future forward financial planning and dipping our toes into fundraising and supporting our local community in any way that we can! Second part is getting more into hosting our own house events as well as finding the right folks to use us as a space for poetry, book signing, plant workshops etc. This space is amazing and I want to be able to use it at every capacity that we can!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I think the three most important skills for opening a business, at least a cafe style business would be having a strong sense of knowing what you want for the space/business (doesn’t have to be specific but at least knowing the base/foundation). Clear goals, and a strong work ethic. I know I already said 3 but being as genuine and open throughout the process will get you far. I am a very “old school business” style person. I do most of my business/connections in person. Do not get me wrong email/text is a great tool for quick- on the go things. But, first and foremost I make initial connections in person over a cup of coffee. Anything from establishing my vendors/brands/products to my service people, and my staff. Always leaving doors open even if they aren’t a good fit in that moment. After all, the main part of my business is community! I am not here to make enemies or come in guns hot. We are all just out here trying to make a difference/impact we can all do that together. That is most important.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I am always looking for collabs! Again, this space is designed to be a community hub of sorts so whether a collab with ingredients or products. Or more specifically, we are looking for specialty folks to host events in the space in afternoons/evenings or our days off. Anyone who specializes in plants/plant workshops, poetry/open mic nights etc. We are open to any and all collabs so long as they aren’t harming anyone and are bringing good to something. We have a form on our website and or email also works, as well as, stopping into the cafe to say hi and chat about ideas.
