Meet Jerry Tsagamilis

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jerry Tsagamilis. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jerry below.

Hi Jerry, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

Honestly, I got my work ethic from skateboarding. Skateboarding teaches you everything about persistence you fall seven times, you get back up eight. There’s no shortcut, no one to blame just you, your board, and the effort you’re willing to put in. It trains you to stay committed, creative, and resilient. If you want to land something, you’ve got to keep trying until you do.

That’s exactly how I approach work and business. When someone tells me “no,” it doesn’t discourage me, it fuels me. I once heard someone say, if you knew you were 50 “no’s” away from becoming a millionaire, how excited would you be to hear the next one? That mindset stuck with me. Every setback just means I’m one step closer to the win.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

For me, it’s never just about promoting a brand it’s about building a movement. SkateYou was born from my own journey from being that kid who found peace, purpose, and identity through skateboarding. Skateboarding taught me persistence, creativity, and connection, and now I’m channeling that same spirit into SkateYou.

SkateYou isn’t just an app it’s a lifestyle and a global community for skateboarders. We’re creating a digital space where skaters can share spots, connect through culture, and push each other to grow. Whether you’re a beginner or pro, SkateYou gives you a platform to be seen, to belong, and to be inspired.

As for spreading the word it starts with authenticity. I want people to feel our story, not just see it. I’m out there talking to skaters, visiting parks, collaborating with local crews, and using social media not as a marketing tool but as a way to connect with real people. When you mix genuine energy with a clear vision, the message spreads naturally.

SkateYou represents more than skateboarding it represents resilience, passion, and the freedom to create your own path. That’s who I am, and that’s what the brand stands for.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three most impactful things for me have been resilience, creativity, and emotional intelligence.

Resilience came straight from skateboarding. You fall hundreds of times before you land something clean and that builds a mindset that failure isn’t the end, it’s part of the process. My advice? Don’t run from failure study it. Every time you fall, you learn something new about yourself.

Creativity has been key both on and off the board. Skateboarding makes you look at the world differently you see potential in a set of stairs or a curb that most people just walk past. That’s the same mindset I bring into business: seeing opportunity where others don’t. If you want to strengthen creativity, keep experimenting. Don’t wait for perfect conditions just start creating and stay curious.

And emotional intelligence learning how to connect with people, understand their energy, and communicate with honesty, that’s what truly builds something lasting. Whether it’s with your team, your audience, or your community, people remember how you make them feel. If you want to grow in that area, start by listening more than you talk.

Those three qualities resilience, creativity, and emotional intelligence have shaped both who I am and what SkateYou stands for.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Absolutely. Collaboration is at the heart of what we’re building with SkateYou. Skateboarding has always been about culture, connection, and self-expression and we want to work with people and brands who share that same energy.

We’re open to collaborating with skate companies, lifestyle brands, and creative minds who believe in community and authenticity. People who understand that skateboarding isn’t just something you do, it’s who you are.

On the fashion side, we’re inspired by the natural blend of skate and streetwear where comfort, creativity, and culture meet. We’re looking to connect with brands and creators who want to represent that same attitude of freedom and individuality.

But it’s not just about established names. I’m also looking to partner with local crews, filmmakers, designers, and investors who believe in building something real from the ground up. People who want to elevate skate culture and connect the world through it.

Anyone who shares that vision can reach out through our website or socials @skate_you or contact me personally on Instagram @jerrysketo. Let’s create something meaningful together.
