Meet Brooke Stevens

We recently connected with Brooke Stevens and have shared our conversation below.

Brooke , thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?

I think my optimism comes from facing life head on truthfully. From running my business, raising my kids, to navigating the daily challenges that come from both. Every setback teaches me something new, every tough day reminds me that I’m capable of more than I ever thought. Running a business has shown me how to find solutions when problems seem impossible, and being a mom has taught me patience, perspective, and the importance of celebrating even the smallest wins. I stay optimistic by focusing on what I can do, trusting that persistence and effort pay off, and reminding myself that growth often comes through struggle. Over time, I’ve learned that hope isn’t luck.. its the choice to keep going, learning, and moving forward, even when the path isn’t easy.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I started my business from almost nothing, no college degree, being a young mother, many obstacles that l would keep many from even considering to start something like this. Some days I still can’t believe what I’ve built. What started as a side hustle Facebook post, has turned into something I have never imagined. While I am still juggling it all, from building client relationships, hiring employees, managing advertising and even doing the physical cleaning myself. It’s been so challenging, but that’s exactly what has made all of this so rewarding. It’s mine. I’ve done it.

What’s most exciting about what I do is the impact it has on people’s lives. We clean residential homes and specialize in deep cleaning, and because we’ve been exactly where our clients are, sometimes overwhelmed, sometimes embarrassed, we understand how much a little help can change someone’s perspective. Our goal is to simplify life for our clients and make their homes feel like a space they can truly enjoy.

Currently, I’m focused on continuing to grow the business, improving our services, and finding ways to make an even bigger difference for the community & people we serve. Every day is a chance to learn, adapt, and get better at what I do, and seeing the results of that work is what keeps me going.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I’m still early in my journey and learning every single day…so honestly, it’s hard for me to believe I’m capable of what I’ve done so far. That said, the three things that have mattered most are resilience, adaptability, and being willing to learn from every mistake. Running a business from the ground up forces you to face challenges constantly…some days you fail, some days you surprise yourself…but every day teaches you something new.

My advice to anyone starting out in anything they’re passionate about is simple: feel the fear and do it anyway. Don’t be afraid to mess up, ask questions, or admit when something is hard. Keep showing up, keep learning, and don’t let doubt stop you. Progress comes from action, not perfection.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

The biggest challenge I face is learning to let go while growing. I started this company from scratch, and it’s hard to fully trust others to carry the same pride and precision I put into every job. Balancing that perfectionism with the need to scale has been so hard.

I want to grow, but I also want to maintain the quality that made this business what it is. I’m tackling it by building strong systems, training a team I can trust, and slowly giving myself permission to step back without fear. It’s about learning that growth doesn’t mean losing control, it means creating space for something bigger than JUST me.
