We recently connected with Chloe Kelley and have shared our conversation below.
Chloe, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I come from a family of entrepreneurs. My grandma owned a daycare for over 40 years. My mom owned a cookie making company. My dad owns 2 construction/home improvement businesses. I have grown up around good work ethic where nothing was handed to them. They had to work extremely hard for what they had. I think that played a big role in my life.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I own Maternal Moments Doula Service. We are a full spectrum doula agency that believes every one deserves quality support during the biggest transition of their life.
I started Maternal Moments in 2021 after becoming a certified doula. I had a traumatic birth experience when my first child was born in 2020. That birth pushed me to becoming a doula as I wanted to help other women not experience what I went through. We have grown into an agency with 4 doulas serving Arkansas. We provide birth support for families, empowering them through their pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey. We also offer childbirth classes (virtual and in person) to prepare them for the big day. We offer placenta encapsulation and virtual or in person lactation visits.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I have always been very compassionate and empathetic to people’s feelings and I think that is what has carried me through doula work.
Another thing would be my skills with infants, with my grandma owning a daycare for so long I was raised around children. I developed a love for babies and learned all I needed to care for them properly.
I have always been a great listener as well. I love to provide a listening ear when someone needs to process something or just have a good rant or brain dump. I think that is where my empathy also plays a role.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am looking to grow our agency into other states. We provide great mentorship for doulas and have all the things to help you feel confident in your own practice. We do the hunt for clients for you so you dont have to pay for a website, advertisements or social media presence. We have a system for charting and communicating with clients as well as a full resource library for you to share with your clients.
