Meet RYAN SELVEY

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful RYAN SELVEY. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with RYAN below.

Hi RYAN, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

I get my resilience from my mother. Extremely hardworking and honest she often pushed upon me the importance of keeping your chin up and head on the straight and narrow. No matter how difficult the road comes you can do it if you have the will.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am a professional videographer, business owner and operator of EATC Film Studio LLC. Born in St. Louis, MO i was raised here in Atlanta, GA in a single parent household. I specialize in event coverage, spec ads, restaurant promotion and weddings. My big love and passion is film, writting and directing. I am currently working on a short film i directed with a talented cast and crew so stay tuned i am very proud with what we got! My brand and company EATC films started as a labor of love that over the years has become a personal business, being able to use my creativity to help capture a wedding day, promote an event or businesses grow and expand is what i absolutely love about what i do.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

As far as skills I learned to do my own editing. I use Davinci Resolve, a powerful editing suite which has a free version. knowing which camera and lenses best fit my shooting style and needs
Also knowing how to navigate customers and drafting strong contracts with each job made.

Don’t be afraid to practice so you can make your mistakes before your big shoot days or events. Play with your camera, put yourself in situations where you’ll need to adapt and pivot to find out what you may need rather thats a new lens or usable settings.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I am looking to collaborate with other like minded creatives in any medium rather that be film sets, or tag teaming local businesses and events.
