Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sarah King. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Sarah, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
Having a structured time to create the life you want comes from being diligent. Making time for the things that matter to you. Family, health, friendship, interpersonal relationships and of course your goals.
I believe that to have a good work ethic is to prioritize the things that drive you, bring love, inspiration, joy, and peace. It does not feel like work when you love what you do. Creating a schedule that fits your needs and of course passions.
We have to make time for the things that fuel our soul.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Sarah’s father; a true crime writer and mother who was the best cheerleader and worked two jobs raising both her and her sister was an integral part of her life. While her father could pursue his dream, her mother was an exceptional wife and mother, which fostered Sarah’s early influence in the Arts. Having a bachelor’s degree in fine art with a focus in painting and drawing; Sarah went on to receive her master’s degree in education. Sarah has a woman-owned business. Owning and managing The King Art Studio, an art school where she and her staff teach from ages 5 to adults.
Sarah’s artworks have been exhibited in Milan, Italy in October of 2022, as well as Barcelona, Spain in December 2022. Sarah also showed her works in New York, California, Miami, Las Vegas, and London. In 2024 Sarah was in the international art show in Tokyo, Japan. Sarah has also shown in international exhibitions online and in person. Sarah has been part of art shows like Art Expo NY, Red Dot Miami, and Art Basel.

Sarah has been interviewed and a headliner artist in Unsung magazine and San Diego Voyager Magazine for her San Diego art show. Sarah has been showcased in other publications in the USA.
Sarah is also a part of RAW artists and was selected in 2014 as a top artist in Nevada.
Commissioned by the State of Nevada Arts Council Creating murals for the city.
Sarah is also a published illustrator and children’s book writer.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I believe following your passion, being willing to take risks and share your talent with others. While also being able to learn new things, take ideas and run with them. In my experience learning every day whether from books, articles, practice, and others to create a life you want. Being open to criticism and advice. You never know if you do not try and sometimes we need a breath of fresh air by learning from others and fully being present in that moment.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
My family and loved ones have been my back bone. When things are hard they can listen and offer advice. More so if you fail, it is not failure, it’s a reminder you’re still learning. Be open to it, let it educate you to further yourself.
These are essential skills not only in work, but our life. If one door closes another will open. Not giving up and staying the course.
