Meet LiL Mike & Funny Bone Aka “MIKE BONE”

We recently connected with LiL Mike & Funny Bone Aka “MIKE BONE” and have shared our conversation below.

LiL Mike & Funny Bone , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

Our resilience is accredited to GOD & years of overcoming obstacles, whether it be financial, physical or mental. As indigenous people resilience is ingrained in our ability to adapt to adversity.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Emmy nominated duo LiL Mike & Funny Bone are multi-award winning Native American Faithbased Recording Artists/Actors as seen on Reservation Dogs, America’s Got Talent & more!

Our newest album “VIBIN” is on all streaming platforms & has Won “Best HipHop Recording” at the Nammys. Born & raised in Oklahoma City our Thunder song is our lastest single “Ready for the Game” online everywhere. Considered to be legends in the game with 28+ years under our belt. Using positive lyrics & not following the typical rap scene, as one of our songs says, it’s “More Than Music”. Offered multiple record deals we’ve chosen to stay independent to not become industry slaves, which is expressed in our song “Hold Me Back”. We’ve devoted our lives to entertaining & inspiring, performing at venues of all kinds, from Arena’s, to Public Schools & everything in-between. Get Streaming links, Free Downloads, Merch & More at: MikeBoneMedia.com We’ve shared the stage with big name artists, been on TV, played in penitentiaries & mobbed by screaming fans. From the quality lyrics to the seemingly endless energy on stage, Mike & Bone have become Music & Performance icons. It hasn’t been easy getting to that point. From homelessness, to gang violence, to discrimination, all the while maintaining our faith in GOD. More than just recording artists, MIKE BONE take Rap/Performance to a Whole New Level as influential Rappers, Dancers, Actors & Motivational Speakers. Traveling the world, climbing charts, & gaining popularity, all while making a difference.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Some of our most important skills on our journey have been our Hustle, Diversity & Stage presence. Hustling from school to the weekend pop-up shops, we stayed slangin’ CD’s & Merch anywhere we could. Now most of our sales are online & at shows. The diversity in our sounds as well as adjusting to the types of events we’re doing, opens the door for more opportunities. Our stage presence is based on the greats we watched growing up, anyone that actually performed when they hit the stage, Michael Jackson, MC Hammer & James Brown just to name a few. With catchy songs & dance routines we’ve been known to steal the show.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Since people love watching us on TV we’re looking to get more TV time. Anything from LateShow interviews to more acting gigs. It could be cool to be sponsored by a company we can relate with like drinking water, umbrellas, etc. Also to have our music included in more films, since we have a song for almost everything.
