Meet Tony Wright

We were lucky to catch up with Tony Wright recently and have shared our conversation below.

Tony, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

I get my work ethic from my parents. I never realized how he hard they worked to provide for us. My father and mother showed us that education is great and you need that but grit and grind is where you get your genuine moment from. I had realized early on that if I want to be the best I had to make I put the work in anything I do and keep God first at all time.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a urban fashion designer that started a business by accident. I am a online radio personality that would interview people and asked the same question you would have to figure out how to do things different. So I started asking them what they were wearing and then I started designing. I started Flava Beginnings out of what God showed me to make things stronger in fashion.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I wish before I dove head in that I had a mentor but because I didn’t I learned the typical fashion fabrics or even realized how didn’t styles can impact. I learned by doing since I didn’t have a mentor or even typical education.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

So I’ve always looked to partner with so many people from Target, Kohl’s, or even Amazon. I have been fortunate to have Walmart.com as a partner. I realized that not only did I have to study the website but also study different stores. I get excited to be able to see things on the site.
