Meet Dana Currie

We were lucky to catch up with Dana Currie recently and have shared our conversation below.

Dana , thank you so much for making time for us today. We can’t wait to dive into your story and the lessons you’ve learned along the way, but maybe we can start with something foundational to your success. How have you gone about developing your ability to communicate effectively?

Honestly,
Dealing with people who didn’t listen helped me understand how to communicate effectively, because being unheard forced me to find clarity in my voice, strength in my boundaries, and intention in every word I spoke. Over time, I realized that if I wanted to be understood, I had to learn how to express myself in a way that was firm, calm, and unmistakably clear. My years in hospitality sharpened that skill even more, teaching me how to read people, adjust my tone, and deliver my thoughts in a way others could receive. Advocating for myself and for the people I love strengthened me, too, because it showed me the power of speaking truth without shrinking. Through experience, reflection, and growth, I learned that effective communication isn’t just about talking it’s about understanding energy, standing on what you mean, and choosing your words with purpose.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

high-standard hospitality. With nearly two decades in the culinary and restaurant industry, I’ve built a reputation on excellence from fine dining and scratch cooking to pastry, baking, and full-service hospitality management. What excites me most is transforming simple moments into elevated experiences. I believe food, service, and atmosphere should feel curated, intentional, and unforgettable. That’s the heart of my brand: luxury rooted in authenticity.

What makes my work special is the passion behind it. I don’t just create meals; I create experiences that nourish people, inspire connection, and leave a lasting impression. Every plate, every interaction, and every detail reflects the years I’ve invested mastering my craft.

I’m stepping into a powerful season of expansion partnering with new clients, elevating my offerings, and building a brand that represents excellence, creativity, and growth. My goal is to show that you can rise, evolve, and create something extraordinary from the ground up. Everything I’m developing now is about setting a new standard: premium service, refined taste, and a commitment to inspiring others through the work I do.

This is more than a career for me it’s legacy in the making.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the three qualities that shaped my journey the most were resilience, emotional intelligence, and craftsmanship. Resilience kept me moving when life wasn’t gentle it taught me how to rise from setbacks with grace and determination. Emotional intelligence allowed me to navigate people, energy, and communication with intention, turning challenges into opportunities for deeper understanding. And craftsmanship the commitment to mastering my skills in hospitality, culinary arts, and service gave me the confidence to create experiences that feel elevated and unforgettable.

For anyone early in their journey, my advice is simple but powerful: invest in your growth before you invest in anything else. Build resilience by letting every obstacle teach you instead of break you. Strengthen your emotional intelligence by listening more than you speak, studying people, and honoring your own boundaries. And become a student of your craft whatever you do, do it with excellence, consistency, and pride. The world opens doors for people who hold themselves to a higher standard. Stay committed, stay intentional, and trust that every season even the hard ones is shaping you into the version of yourself you were always meant to become.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

Over the last 12 months, I’ve experienced a remarkable transformation both professionally and personally. Professionally, I stepped into my leadership on my own terms, finally owning the depth of my 19+ years of expertise in hospitality, culinary arts, and management. I began trusting my voice and my standards, presenting myself with a confidence that reflects the quality of my work. I rebuilt my foundation after transitioning out of a draining environment and started making intentional moves that aligned with my purpose, not just my circumstances. This year marked a shift from simply getting by to elevating my brand, expanding my skills, and positioning myself for long-term legacy. Personally, my growth has been just as powerful. I walked away from one-sided connections and relationships that no longer matched the love or effort I give. I rebuilt my confidence and reclaimed my energy by traveling, moving, securing new blessings, and surrounding myself with people who truly value me. I learned how to communicate with clarity and strength, using my voice with purpose instead of hesitation. More than anything, I grew from a woman who poured into everyone at her own expense into a woman who finally prioritizes herself. I operate from a higher frequency now rooted in peace, aligned with growth, and stepping boldly into the version of myself I was always meant to become.
