Meet Rosangela Torres Nila

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rosangela Torres Nila. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rosangela below.

Rosangela , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

I choose the topic of resilience, because it’s the thread that has shaped every chapter of my life.
My resilience comes from two places: my family and my community.

I grew up watching my parents work incredibly hard, often without taking breaks, always finding a way—even when the way wasn’t obvious. They never complained. They just showed up with faith, grit, and gratitude. That became my blueprint.

As an adult, especially as a mom and a Realtor, life continues to test that same strength. I’ve learned that resilience isn’t loud. It’s not always a heroic moment. Sometimes it’s waking up early after a long night to prepare for showings. Sometimes it’s delivering pop-bys with my daughter by my side because I want her to grow up seeing what hard work and heart look like. And sometimes it’s rebuilding yourself quietly after setbacks, disappointments, or seasons of doubt.

My resilience is fueled by purpose — by knowing my daughter is watching me, by wanting to be an example of what’s possible, and by the love I have for the community I serve. Helping families move into the next chapter of their lives is an honor, and it requires patience, compassion, and an ability to keep going even when things get tough.

I didn’t just learn resilience. I lived it, one season at a time. And now it’s one of my strongest qualities — it’s the fire that keeps me moving forward with faith, gratitude, and heart.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Professionally, I’m a Realtor® serving Southern California — but at the heart of what I do, I’m a storyteller, a connector, and someone who believes deeply in the power of home. My work spans Whittier, Los Angeles County, and Orange County, where I’ve built a brand rooted in warmth, authenticity, and community presence.

What excites me most about real estate is the transformation I get to witness. Every client represents a new chapter: a first-time buyer stepping into a dream they once thought was out of reach, a family outgrowing their space and stepping confidently into the next stage of their lives, or a longtime homeowner finally ready to pass the keys to someone new. Being trusted with these moments is something I never take lightly. It’s the kind of work that fills you — because every story is different, every family is unique, and every outcome matters.

My approach is personal and relationship-driven. I’m the kind of Realtor who knows the local coffee shops, supports small businesses, hosts pop-bys and neighborhood drops, and involves my daughter in my day-to-day work because I want her to see what community looks like. My brand style blends professionalism with approachability: bilingual communication, thoughtful marketing, creative storytelling, and the belief that real estate should feel human, not transactional.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

When I look back on my journey, three qualities have made the biggest impact: resilience, connection, and consistency. Each one has shaped not only my career, but also the way I show up for myself, my family, and my community.

1. Resilience

Real estate — and honestly, life — will test you. Deals fall apart, timing shifts, people change their minds, and you often have to rebuild momentum from scratch. My resilience comes from learning to get back up quickly, to adapt without losing heart, and to see challenges as part of the process rather than a sign to stop.

Advice:
Resilience is built in small, everyday moments.
Don’t wait for a big challenge to strengthen it.
Show up on the days you don’t feel like it.
Finish tasks even when the motivation isn’t there.
Little by little, you train yourself to keep going — and that becomes your superpower.

2. Connection

Connection is the foundation of my brand. I’ve learned that people don’t just want information; they want to feel understood. My ability to connect — whether through community events, pop-bys, bilingual communication, or simply showing up as myself — has opened more doors than any sales pitch ever could.

Advice:
Prioritize relationships over results.
Learn people’s stories. Follow up. Ask questions. Be a real human.
Connection grows when you’re consistent, genuine, and willing to invest in people without expecting anything in return.
Your reputation will carry you further than any marketing plan.

3. Consistency

Consistency is the quiet, powerful force behind every milestone I’ve hit. The postcards mailed, the open houses hosted, the videos filmed, the hours spent learning my market — it all adds up. While talent is helpful, consistency is what changes your life.

Advice:
Don’t aim for perfection — aim for rhythm.
Pick a few simple habits and stick to them: weekly posts, monthly mailers, daily follow-ups.
Success doesn’t come from doing everything; it comes from doing the right things over and over again.

For anyone early in their journey: be patient with your growth. Focus on building the qualities that last — resilience, connection, and consistency. Everything else can be learned along the way. When you invest in who you are, your career naturally rises to match it.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

One book that deeply shaped my perspective is The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel. What resonated with me most is how simply and beautifully it explains that financial success is less about knowledge and more about behavior.

A few powerful lessons that stayed with me:

• Discipline beats intensity — small, steady habits grow your wealth more than big, dramatic moves.
• Your mindset matters — how you think about risk, patience, and long-term vision determines your outcomes.
• We all have different money stories — and understanding your own helps you make smarter, calmer decisions.
• Wealth is quiet — confidence, security, and smart choices don’t need to be loud.

The book reinforced the way I guide clients: with clarity, patience, and the reminder that smart real estate decisions begin with mindset, not pressure.
