Meet Hopii Tee

We were lucky to catch up with Hopii Tee recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Hopii with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

I have a mixture of both of my parent’s work ethic. My mom is very driven and believes in action and logistics, so I have that in me when it comes to studying a new skill. And for my dad, he has a lot of ambition and multiple ideas, which I take after him in my music creating and entrepreneurial aspects. Altogether, I have learned to balance both ways to be organized and really get to my own personal goals for my music and businesses.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am an artist! I write music and have taken it more seriously this year, and one thing I would like to tell the readers is to not give up. It doesn’t matter how long it takes you to put out a song, what matters is your dedication and effort towards marketing it. I learned that awareness about what you got going on is what matters because how will people know about you if you don’t put yourself out there?! I also have a self-help business that is still in the works right now, but I will be focusing on it more next year.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I would say if I trusted my own gut instincts things might be different now, but everything happens for a reason. Also, taking the time to do vocal warm-ups is so beneficial everyday as a singer. Lastly, don’t take advice from people who aren’t doing what you’re doing because they don’t know what it takes to be you! Advice is cool and all, but make sure to take everything with a grain of salt. Another thing I would say, market, market, market; even if it’s an old song to you, it could be a new song to someone else! Plus, you could be scared or embarrassed of your own new song, but who cares?! If you like it and you know it’s a vibe, then release it! At least ONE person will enjoy the art you have created.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

The kind of folks I am looking for to partner with or collab with would have to be a multitude of people. I would like to meet an awesome guitarist and pianist who could play with me and we jam out freestyling or doing covers and traveling the world to see and do shows. I am also looking for sponsors or brands who want to have more awareness brought to them so they themselves can share their stories too! The best way to get in contact with me is through instagram dm or email: [email protected] !
