Meet Ashlyn Snow

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ashlyn Snow. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Ashlyn, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

I get my resilience from my desire to make the world a more beautiful place. Growing up, life had its share of challenges & that darkness helped mold me to look out for the beauty in life, no matter how simple. In times of doubt, I think about how proud my younger self would be of me & that helps motivate me to keep going, keep living a beautiful & creative life.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a photographer as well as the Social Media Director for Cutruzzola Vineyards. I consider myself to be a multi-passionate person, which can be seen as radical in a world that tells you to “niche down” to find success. My main passion is photography; when I first picked up a camera at 16, I immediately fell in love with this creative practice. I became so obsessed with it, going out on the family ranch after school & taking photos until dark. My passion for photography really helped me develop my voice, give me confidence. When shooting I love to blend fashion & nature together. When I’m not creating for fun, I am fortunate enough to have my intersecting interests of photography & wine lead to my job as the Social Media Director at Cutruzzola Vineyards. I have worked in the wine industry on & off since 2016 & have worked at Cutruzzola for about three years now & really enjoy it.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I think the three qualities/skills that have been the most impactful on my journey are passion, curiosity & clear communication. When I first started film photography in high school, I was so passionate about it but had a lot to learn. If I received less than an A on a photo project, I would ask my photography teacher what could be improved upon. I was eager for feedback & wanted to improve, a trait I still hold after all these years. There’s always room for improvement & we can learn from everyone if we take the time to pause & really soak in that knowledge. Don’t let the imposter syndrome get to you, ask questions from those you admire in your field & this will help you grow tremendously. And remember, everyone was a beginner at some point!

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

My partner Bobby has been the most helpful when it comes to supporting me overcome challenges. Not only is he kind & supportive, but he is a talented writer & artist as well. Knowing I have Bobby in my corner gives me the push to keep going, even when I start to doubt myself.
