Meet Dominic Rosalia

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dominic Rosalia a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Dominic, so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?

Inner reflection is the best way to grow. At the end of the day, it is your obligation to push yourself to be better. You learn from your mistakes when you look back on things. You realize ways to be better and what to do better for next time.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am a graphic designer for the company Stereotype Co. I plan on starting my own LLC as a graphic designer under the name of Domtoon doing freelance art and designs. When it comes to making a design having creative freedom while being able to satisfy the customer is the most special thing in the world.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Qualities:

1, Perseverance

2, Being Goal oriented

3, Bravery

Advice:

1, When it gets tough and hard to see the light pushing forward.

2, Never feel accomplished you can always be better and do better.

3, Success does not come to you, you have to chase it.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

The most impactful thing that my parents did for me was getting me my laptop. It is something that I use every day when I work. It is the reason I have found my passion for art & design.
