Meet Dionisio Burgos

We recently connected with Dionisio Burgos and have shared our conversation below.

Dionisio , so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.

I’ve been trying not to burn myself out with photography, but I also make sure I stay creative. I always aim for at least 5 – 6collabs a month just to keep the passion alive. I’m constantly watching videos on YouTube, scrolling through Pinterest, and staying up-to-date with new camera gear and techniques.

At the end of the day, you have to make time for your craft the same way you did when you first fell in love with it. That hunger, that passion, that excitement you have to protect it and keep feeding it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m a photographer and storyteller, and for me it’s more than just taking pictures it’s capturing moments that people can feel. I’ve been blessed to shoot over 1,600 sessions, work with amazing clients, and watch my gift grow into something bigger than just a hobby. What makes this work special is seeing someone look at their photos and finally see themselves the way God sees them confident, loved, and full of purpose.

Photography keeps me creative. I’m always studying, watching videos, learning new techniques, and staying up-to-date with gear. I treat my craft like my first love I make time for it, I invest in it, and I pour my heart into every session.

My brand is built on authenticity and excellence. Whether it’s portraits, studio work, or creative projects, I want people to feel comfortable, seen, and inspired. I want them to walk away not just with great photos, but with an experience that sticks with them.

Right now, I’m working on expanding my studio work, taking on more collaborations, and stepping into new creative directions. I’m also preparing new content, new styles, and new projects that push my creativity even further.

At the end of the day, I’m just grateful to be doing what I love and even more grateful that God trusted me with this gift.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back on my journey, the qualities that shaped me the most were discipline, networking, perseverance, and my faith.

Discipline kept me consistent showing up to shoot, to learn, to grow, even on the days I didn’t feel motivated.
Networking opened doors I couldn’t have walked through alone. The connections I made, the collaborations, the relationships… they all helped me grow not just as an artist, but as a person.
Perseverance pushed me through every season where it felt like nothing was happening. It kept me moving when the results didn’t show up overnight.
And faith grounded me. It reminded me that God was working behind the scenes even when I didn’t see it, and that every step had purpose.

My advice for anyone just starting stay focused and keep pushing even if you don’t see results right away. Master your craft, connect with people, stay hungry, and trust the process. The growth doesn’t always show up instantly, but if you stay faithful to the work, the work will eventually speak for you.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

When I look at who has helped me grow, overcome challenges, and become the man I am today, the first name is Jesus. He’s the One who carried me through every season, gave me strength when I had none, and kept shaping my character and my gift.

My wife has been my biggest supporter encouraging me, praying for me, and standing by me through every up and down.
My mother and my family have always been there, pushing me to keep going and reminding me of who I am.
My pastors have poured wisdom and guidance into me, helping me stay grounded and focused on my calling.
And even my kids motivate me. They’re the reason I aim higher, stay disciplined, and fight to be better every day.

Each one of them played a different role, but together they helped shape the qualities, skills, and mindset I needed to succeed. They kept me steady when life got heavy, and they reminded me why I keep going.
